The Deep Six By Rob Cummings

The deep six book series

Christian themed fast paced multiple story lines all ending in a satisfying conclusion Looking forward to seeing from this author Rob Cummings This book had a great story behind it with a cute feel good ending However the grammatical errors took some of the magic out of the story telling Rob Cummings The mediocrity of just another day in Black Rock shatters with an early morning rumble Hearts begin a tempestuous plunge into individual black holes of fear A symphony of voices in spontaneous prayer follow with requests for protection and salvation for those they love Joyce Pennington instantly knows lives hang in the balance and at the end of this event Black Rock will not be the same In the hours to come families will be broken in bitterness and doubt and forged again in the fires of faith Will the new structures hold or will they only be temporary patches The Deep SixMost of the time when you read about a mining accident it focuses on the trapped miners This book was quite a change from that as it s focus was on what was happening with the families ABOVE the surface It addresses how they managed thru the crisis by leaning on their faith as well as each other. Clive cussler books deep six This is really a good story and an easy read that is inspirational to say the least I really love this author and cannot wait for his next book to come out You will enjoy this book Rob Cummings A story of hope This book hit extremely close to home for me I live and work in a mining community I consider myself extremely lucky to have never experienced a mining disaster at all or like the one in The Deep Six but even though this book was a piece of fiction the characters and people involved struck a chord with me Reading through this beautifully written and inspirational piece of literature I actually got chills at various parts of the story I could see the faces feel the tension and almost relived what it was like for the families experiencing the horrible miscommunication and unanswered questions regarding the trapped miners as if I was in the town also The book took a turn I wasn t expecting based on the synopsis I enjoyed how rather than focusing on the trapped miners it focused on those left outside and the struggles they were going through in light of the accident that made them reevaluate how they were living their lives. The deep six 1958 cast The book was a bit heavy on the inspirational feel for me but that is a personal preference I thought that the main character who was putting her faith on the line and preaching to others was a very accurate portrayal of a devout miner s wife so job well done I also have to commend the author Rob Cummings on his ability to weave the story together without including stereotypes Usually I shudder to think how West Virginians are being portrayed in the written word and most times I m disappointed Cummings manages to capture all walks of life very well without being critical of a faction of people who are often misjudged Though I realize the book never comes out and says it I read in your bio that you are WV born and raised and seeing as coal is one of our main industries I put two and two together So from one West Virginian to another thank you Rob Cummings I am so sorry but this book was a waste of time Such a cheesy book with a cheesy ending And beginning And middle And end The characters were stereotypical The mannerisms and speech were boringly text book The grammar and punctuation are atrocious The storyline painfully transparent Everyone lived happily ever after All troubles resolved in the wink of an eye This is not real life Terrible things do happen and God allows them to happen sometimes It s not all sunshine and rainbows and faith isn t just about celebrating when everything turns out great Also this story focused entirely too much on Joyce and her magical ability to know what God was saying before anyone else knew it She butted into everyone s business and shoved her faith on everyone around her until they just gave in and got their problems resolved in an instant That s not how this works As a Christian sure you help when help is needed But you don t shove your faith on people When God allows an opening you share what He wants you to share but people need to be open and willing and want that You don t MAKE people change or force your belief on them I could go on but I ve made my point Please have someone proofread your next book Rob Cummings A great tale about how the people of Black Rock come together in the face of disaster and overcome their fears with love humor forgiveness and above all faith The character of Joyce Pennington is an inspiration to her family and friends and the glue that keeps many from falling apart Rob Cummings I won this book as Goodreads book giveaway Not only I got a signed copy but also a sweet letter from the writer Rob Cummings. The deep six book series The Deep Six is a story about a small mining community and how it comes together when a explosion in the mine left some of the miners trapped It was an interesting book that gives us insight into the life of a small community their lives and problems and when a tragedy happens how they reacted and tried to solve the problem through courage resilience and faith Rob Cummings

The Deep SixRob grew up in the hills of West Virginia a TV loving child of the sixties I enjoyed shows like The Twilight Zone Gunsmoke The Wild Wild West Bonanza Wagon Train and The Big Valley Even then I enjoyed a good story Only after I began to read stories by Poe Heinlein and O Henry did I decide to put pen to paper and fabricate my own tales..
