Soft Ceremonies kindle app Filthy Loot is one of my favorite publishers of modern horror and speculative fiction and this collection is my favorite read yet from them I highly recommend this collection if you like your horror a little on the odd side Paperback My first Filthy Loot mini compilation and what a way to start 4 really dark short stories each with a strong folk horror meets modern life vibe My personal favorite was Charlene Elsby s which is truly nasty Paperback Another great selection from Filthy Loot I was particularly fond of the second story By The Witchroot By The Dawn by Joe Koch Kept me GRIPPED the entire way built some fantastic tension and the ending was superb Definitely recommend Paperback Great concept for an antho and you couldn t find a apt selection of authors to bring it to life Soft Ceremonies kicks off with religious body horror from Charlene Elsby her signature methodical sinister style belying the freakishly gruesome finale it s building toward Joe Koch provides a surreal folk horror tale that confounds at every turn like an origami fortune teller that flips from delusion to reality until everything folds together Sam Richard melds intimate grief horror with oozy sci fi sleaze immersing us in the horror of forced transformation that gives way to acceptance Jon Steffens concludes with a sparkling suburban nightmare You know nothing good s going on when a geometric sigil pops up in a Steffens story Paperback
