The Enchanting Mr. Collins: A Pride and Prejudice Extravaganza DisappointingWe begin with a multitude of metaphors and almost drown in a sea of similes for the first third of the story The enchanting Mr Collins is reasonably attractive but ends up acting as a clumsy and immature person who is still servile and verbose The writing changes tense and has many editing errors plus the plot jumps swiftly from dancing to proposal 148 A medley of overdone descriptions with way too many adjectives in every sentence There was no story just preparations for the Meryton assembly After a third in I m afraid I gave up Too silly to waste time on 148 I do not know how to rate this book I can t tell if it to be taken seriously or if it s all tongue in cheek or a satire There are so many similes as if Like The story gets lost Getting ready for the ball assembly took the first 25% of the story And to make it even confusing some of the descriptions had me thinking the ball was taking place at Longbourn I am afraid it only gets a little better Ultimately what the title has to do with the story I don t get There was nothing enchanting about Collins he was just a little less annoying than canon And accepts Elizabeth s refusal with a smidge of grace 148 So much description so little plot 148
