Pavlo s day looks a lot like my week Someone suggests doing something fun something we d usually enjoy and our response is essentially Ugh We ve got the grumps and nothing you do or say is going to make any difference Or is it Mama has plenty of good suggestions but there s always a reason to not wanna Honestly why would you want to go to the park when the slide is too SLIDEY Unperturbed Mama who is vying for sainthood at this point finally convinces Pavlo to leave the house Pavlo learns that his family and friends will still be there for him when he s having a bad day and that maybe just maybe he just can t be bothered doing anything And then his floofy mother and doggy friends basically pull him through those same blahs. Book Pavlo Gets the grumps off Not just cute but CUTE Sorry for swearing earlier Thanks to Candlewick for providing me with a cute ARC through Edelweiss English I loved this book for the artworks alone They are delightful Yet the story is great too for young children Doesn t everyone get the grumps sometime You know those times when nothing seems enjoyable This book helps children to learn how to get over a case of the grumps so that they can have fun once again Hint get outside and find a friend English Natalia Shaloshvili s anthropomorphized cat family is adorable and when young Pablo gets a case of the grumps it s up to his mother and friend to help him find a way to get over them I can absolutely hear the voices that an excellent reader could do with this fun story Large font simple text wonderful illustrations done with acrylics and watercolor pencil will make this a book that young children are soon reciting on their own and to their friends English
