Edge of spider-verse kindle books First appearance of Star Spider but she s forgettable Not worth your investment Good cover art First story art is better than the second Kindle Edition This was two short stories about alternate reality spider people The first one about Star Spider was a little generic and forgettable This Persephone Parker character fought a Kree equivalent to Doctor Octopus Her powers seem to be nanite based She can direct miniature spider robots to coat her in armor The armor has conventional spider powers like firing off some kind of webbing It also lets her survive in a vacuum There was nothing wrong with this story per se It was just fine. Edge of the spider-verse #2 Surprisingly the backup story about Web Weaver aka the gay Spider man turned out to be enjoyable and thoughtful It turns out that Cooper the alter ego of Web Weaver is roommates with his reality s Peter Parker They have a surprisingly cute meaningful friendship The seemingly powerless Peter Parker appears to still be heterosexual But that s okay That makes it heartfelt that he went to prom as Cooper s platonic date and he s now trying to set his roommate up with another guy He s the ultimate straight guy friend for a gay guy It s awesome That s like the dream Kindle Edition Gonna be honest I am a fan of introducing Spider Man variants but Star Spider and her story was not what I expected at all and was very disappointed by it Out of this year s Edge of Spider Verse new Spidey additions she is incredibly lame and the story that acompanied her was overly formulaic and generic Web Weaver is a Spidey we have seen before and I enjoy that we got to see a bit of his non superhero side I did not expect him to be friends and roomies with his Earth s Peter Parker and although some might find it to be very fanficy I think it is neat Overall was fun but suffers from the same issues as Star Spider s story Kindle Edition As soon as Professor Osborn s daughter showed up I knew that she d be Percy s girlfriend Cute but how unfortunate that her debut issue didn t even reveal her name Web Weaver s story with Peter was pretty wholesome had me wonder if there s a Cooper Coen that could interact with 616 Peter at some point Kindle Edition
