Traumatic 5 stars I wish I had the strength to go insaneDamn ain t that the truth I m becoming quite the fan of Lou s chaotic poetry collections and Trauma does not disappoint It s an eclectic and deeply personal collection of micropoetry exploring the author s own trauma with some poems being veiled by the private events they refer to and yet I think those of us who are broken in our own way will find a way to relate to at least one of the topics or themes There s an emotional desperation running through the poems which provokes a profound sadness when reading them but this is by no means a negative I want a book to make me feel something and Trauma certainly does that Trauma by Lou Willingham Tear my heart out why don t you So much emotion in this short collection and while the author is sharing some deep and long standing feelings about their own trauma many of these micro poems are open to interpretation That s the best thing about it each of these clearly has a meaning to the author but at the same time open ended enough to look at through the lenses of our own experiences Trauma by Lou Willingham I m in physical agony after reading this spectacularly beautiful poetry collection Trauma by Lou Willingham I m not a poetry person but I read this because Willingham is awesome And you know what Hot damn the poetry is lit I felt this on a deep level and it resonated with me There are too many good lines to quote because if I shared all my favourite ones I might as well just type the whole book here So go read it for yourself Trauma by Lou Willingham
