The little girl s hero is her mother She wants to grow up to be just like her and help others Then they have an idea that will bless the whole community but they ll need help to accomplish it. I was given a free copy of the book by the author A positive review was not required 34 This story told from a young girl s perspective shares about her soldier father who comes home injured She praises her mother for all that Mom does for them The bilingual book also has Spanish text accompanying the colorful illustrations which were drawn by the author The story takes readers through a year and their efforts to raise funds for a park for veterans This book should open doors for many conversations with children about the topics covered in the text It includes a Christian worldview I received an advance copy from the author All opinions are my own 34 Bettie Boswell crafts a tale that shows kids how anyone can make a difference in someone s life and thus be a hero Each page takes us through a different month of the year ending back in May where it started to celebrate Mom This story gives children an example of selflessness and the importance of taking on a big project for the good of others Very sweet story 34
