Case of the Bayfront Murder: A Macaroni on Wheels Mystery By S.K. Derban

Case of the bayfront murdere killers

She was a fun character to get to know She seemed like a real sweetheart I loved the interactions between her and her best friend Moheenie They were quite a fun pair Those two got a little bit too excited and we re having a little too much fun with their amateur sleuthing I also really loved and appreciated the relationship she had with her family It is the same kind of relationship I have with my own daughter. Case of the bayfront murderdyke Preparing for a catering gig the two of them just happened upon the murder of one of their clients Of course sticking their noses in where they truly don t belong We get to see a little bit of fun.

Case of the bayfront murderjoy

Terza Tiapolo the curious caterer with the alliterative name finds herself up to her meatballs in mystery when she finds a client dead on the day she s supposed to cater a party for him. Case of the bayfront murderable Helping her are her best friend and employee Moheenie as well as Moheenie s husband Ranger But surely the handsome detective assigned to the case can handle the job right Well yes he can but Terza and Moheenie love reading murder mysteries and now they have a chance to put their solving skills to real life use if they can keep out of the detective s way. Case of the bayfront murderjay What a fun story I so enjoyed getting to know Terza and her friends Plus her family What a loving boisterous Italian family in the heart of San Diego s Little Italy Plus there s a hint of a potential romance too This is book one in a series by author S. Case of the bayfront murdering K Derban A cozy mystery set in a cute little Italy town in California I was invested in the characters than the story I really liked Terza and Moheenie They were a great pair and loved their friendship and antics I also really enjoyed Terza s Italian family I have been fascinated by food trucks and catering lately so getting to read a cozy mystery set around that was great On the mystery side of things it was pretty good but I felt was very easy to solve I actually was confused at first because it couldn t be that easy but it was It s of a following the character trying to solve the mystery rather than trying to solve it yourself I am intrigued by the characters as well as the possible romance triangle to see who she winds up with and the next mystery 3. Case of the bayfront murderjoy K DerbanThe First Macaroni on Wheels MysteryTerza Tiepolo is known for her catering company Macaroni on Wheels her love of family and friends and her love of mysteries as proven by her membership to a mystery book club where she s always on top of their monthly whodunit competition Arriving at a client s home to cater his dinner party she finds his murdered body Though sad at the death of her client Terza sees it as an opportunity to really put her sleuthing skills to the test With her best friend Moheenie by her side she ll search for clues as she prepares for the week s catering events And if that provides contact with the tall dark and mysterious Detective Garza so much the better Terza Tiepolo is a delightful protagonist. Murder on the waterfront 1943 She s witty caring and smart She is also quite young so I find it a bit disconcerting that she s lamenting not being married at 23 I appreciate her relationship with both family and friends It s a joyful celebration as they make it a point to gather together to eat and play on a regular basis I liked the mystery and how Terza and Moheenie go about solving it The mystery was well plotted with an ingenious murder While Detective Garza is certainly swoon worthy I really got a kick out of Jacob Radovan the Medical Examiner. Case of the bayfront murderforce One thing I could have done with less of was the religiosity There s a description of Terza reading her bible every morning before calling her mom although I admit the question and answer section that followed with her dad was cute However an entire chapter albeit a short one quoting the bible and praising God was a bit much for me It seems that public praise of God is fundamental to the author s personal life so this is a natural offshoot for her I m grateful that it s not preachy but I wish she would have been subtle incorporating her religious praise With droolworthy descriptions of Italian delicacies CASE OF THE BAYFRONT MURDER is a lighthearted mystery combining family friendship and that delicious food with a puzzling murder Pass me a slice of that Sart Di Riso then join me for a rousing game of bocce ball and don t forget some gelato while I wait for Terza s next mystery S. Case of the bayfront murders K Derban Coming off of some intense suspense novels this was quite the change of pace for me Case of the Bayfront Murder is a cozy murder mystery and my first time reading one It reminds me of Aurora Tea Garden meets the family dinners on Blue Bloods It was an easy read and fairly enjoyable The character development was good I did find myself wanting a little bit I hope the series builds on that a little bit I loved the friendship between Terza and Moheenie Their love for murder mystery s finds them in the right place at the right time to try to solve a real life murder The storyline kept on pace but at times it was a little hard to keep focus and found myself putting the book down It didn t quite hold my engagement as much as I would have liked This would be a good book for a vacation The setting was great I felt like I was walking through little Italy The relationship aspect between Terza and Conner is a friendship turned budding relationship He ends up on an expected trip and leaves so we don t really tie that relationship up But hopefully we will get later on in the series S. Case of the bayfront murderhome K Derban did have faith in the book Though not quite as intertwined as I would like to see The last chapter does focus on Terza s relationship with God But it is of an afterthought and only one chapter The Christian aspect was of an afterthought I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it All opinions are my own S. Case of the bayfront murdercoach The dialogue is stiff formal and on the nose It frequently felt like the author was speaking to the reader and telling the reader things the author thought they should know rather than allowing it to come from the characters organically Instead of switching to pronouns the characters names were overused in the narrative. Case of the bayfront murder epub pdf The romance was sweet though I thought it was odd that the detective would be snippy with her and flirt with her during the same conversation Also I didn t like Connor pushing Terza to let him come to her apartment. Case of the bayfront murder epub free Overall it was humorous and interesting I thought the murder weapon was a unique choice I wish it had suspects and mystery elements for the reader to try to solve The catering company Macaroni on Wheels is a cute name but doesn t really make me think of Italian Food Also I would have loved for the story to go back to the mystery book club and maybe finish there S. Case of the bayfront murderists K Derban MY THOUGHTS Well this book was a hoot It was like taking a little vacation a vacation from heavy detailed reading a vacation to Little Italy San Diego California A simple easy going cozy mystery But what this book lacks in suspense and action it certainly makes up for in fun and character development. Case of the bayfront murderhouse This was like the life and times of Terza with a little bit of mystery thrown in which was very enjoyable A little Italian cutie mischief and maybe a little bit of romance But with all that is going on there is always a lot of cooking It is based around a catering business after all I thought the cooking parts were a lot of fun to read about BTW I have never made risotto While I do typically like a little suspense angst heartfeltness I know that s not a word I made it up but this book was a lot of fun and like I said it was like taking a vacation to Little Italy I think I would love to read the next book in the series to see where it takes Terza and Moheenie and I have to find out about Terza s love life. Case of the bayfront murderdown K Derban is the charming first book in the Macaroni on Wheels cozy mystery series If you re a fan of food cozies with lots of character development this is for you I don t have even the tiniest bit of Italian DNA in my body but when I read cozy mystery books with Italian families I wish that I did They always seem to have weekly meals with every family member the ones who live close enough to go and several friends The meals are lively and include delicious foods of course And people don t leave after they eat They stick around and chat or in our main character Terza Tiepolo s case they play bocce ball I love that game This feeling of family and friends can be felt throughout Case of the Bayfront Murder This delightful cozy mystery introduces us to Terza Tiepolo owner of the catering company Macaroni on Wheels Her company is right next to her parents market Tiepolo Mercato in Little Italy San Diego This is another thing that gives this cozy mystery its familial charm The author brings this area to life with her descriptive language You ll feel as if you re cooking right along with Terza and her best friend while in the catering kitchen This cozy mystery has a slower pace however it gives the reader a chance to mull over the clues and solve the mystery right along with the characters I absolutely recommend Case of the Bayfront Murder I think that cozy mystery lovers will enjoy getting to know Terza her family and her friends This cozy mystery is filled with charm well developed characters a lovely setting and a fun to solve mystery I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book All views expressed are only my honest opinion S. Case of the bayfront murder epub free K Derban This was a fun read I liked Terza and Moheeni They were a fun pair I did think that the author used all of their names a little too much but that didn t pull me out of the story too much I look forward to seeing how this series develops I received a complimentary copy from the publisher I was not required to write a positive review All opinions expressed are mine alone S. Case of the bayfront murderbush K Derban It was a very interesting and suspectful fun mystery It has some twist and turns It s a page turner It s well written and has a good storyline It has enjoyable characters It kept my interest It kept on my edge of my seat I look forward to the next book S.
