I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Emily Spring A promising start butsomewhere the author seemed to leap forward and leave me behind Kathy and Harold s love story started off well The main characters took the time to get to really know each other mindful of his daughter Ida from the beginning Their concern for the child s sensibilities was belied by the indeterminate number of years they lived together without the bonds of marriage though They formed a family unit relatively quickly a team of three cum four against the world including Ida s mother. This book left me with so many questions What made Kathy stay in FL after her non wedding How old is Ida Why did Marianne return and did Harold do any type of background check on her before he let her back into their lives The passage of time is not well defined Kathy recalls a memory of the dog that was brought into the household as a puppy that sprouted into a fully trained police dog post haste months became years Her pregnancy was realized and over in two chapters The baby turned one a chapter later A lot rushed in a short span only to draw out the final HEA Honestly I was through at the end of Chapter Eight no baby in sight though But the new family was in place and they were happy with their situation.
