Ever since doing my thesis the 12 Dancing Princesses tale type I actively seek out retellings of it and this installment in the Tales of Tessagonia fully fits the bill of what I like to see in them It is very easily recognizable as a take on the classic tale with lots of familiar elements but it is also a unique and engaging take on that familiar tale. The gloaming realm poetry review Instead of simply being the daughters of a king these princesses are the muses with which readers of the previous Tales of Tessagonia will already be familiar daughters of the Sun God and Moon Goddess This tale is effectively a prequel in relation to the previous Tessagonia tales it provides some really lovely world building via explaining where the royal family we see in the other tales originated and how the various gods of this world ended up where they are in the later tales. In the gloaming short story pdf If you enjoy a good fairy tale story you ll enjoy The Gloaming Realm whether or not you ve read any of Mary W Jensen s other tales It is very easily approachable as a standalone tale However I do think your enjoyment will only be enhanced if you read the rest of her Tessagonia series Poetry Fantasy Fiction
