Eloise was charming Another faith filled excellent story I loved all three stories and they fit together perfectly I received an ARC from Kregel on behalf of the authors I was not required to post a favorable review All opinions are mine alone 0825448425 I love short stories so I absolutely adored this collection of sweet novellas Each romance is set in NYC which I love and covers three different wars They are completely unique stories yet all beautifully connected and tied together by a hand sewn wedding dress passed through generations What makes the dress even special is a message of love stitched within Each story captures human emotion and relationships highlighting faith.

A delightful trio of stories with significant lessons of hope love and faith all tied together with an unforgettable wedding dress A HEART IN DISGUISE Rachel Scott McDaniel April 1918 Building on real events this story was interesting informative exciting and a joy to read The characters were realistic serving their country and relying on their faith in God It is fascinating to learn new things about our country and its history The story flowed effortlessly and old friends to romance was very well done A LETTER TO ELI Allison Pittman April 1942 Heartache and Hope during WWII tells of two friends in NYC The life on the home front was excellently portrayed with a sort id Cyrano element With a flawed hero an unsure heroine and friendship that survived many hardships A DAFODIL IN THE DRESS Susie Finkbeiner Spring 1969 A quiet kind respectful hero and a grieving widow connect in a bookshop This was nostalgic for me because I married in 1969 Lots of references were memorable The family of Kate was bad at matchmaking but good at loving and accepting The young child hope compassion and resilience True events and real people were written in the storyline which I love and I learned A LOT of new things History comes alive this way I can t wait to explore works by these authors especially the two who were new to me Content war injuries death of loved one grief off page sexual assault briefly mentioned Kisses only no language Thank you kregelbooks the tagged authors for a gifted copy in exchange for my honest review 0825448425 I was surprised by the Author s Note at the end from Susie Finkbeiner I feel like her name should be followed by the great or Dr. Something borrowed wedding hire or something of the sort to learn that she had not considered herself to be a Romance writer After reading Something Borrowed as well as other books written by her I have always found a true and solid love to gently flourish throughout her stories 0825448425 I love this anthology and the stories woven around a special dress with prayers offered by women of different generations This book starts off with a riveting bang and left me moved to tears at the end after enjoying my first story by Susie Finkbeiner Psalm 91 11 plays a paramount role in offering comfort to such lovely characters as Clara Bette and Kate as they exhibit hope in the midst of war and its aftermath Each of their experiences is unique yet finds a common thread in what it means to trust God with the future when surrounded by uncertainty and the unknown.
