Site_link post a commentI read Maya s Quest by Shireen Magedin the edited final version as PDF The novel has an interesting unusual plot It is about people who travel in a time machine to Mohenjodaro A person travels and meets an important person there He returns and the next time they go they are at the time of that person s grandson Having heard about the coming in a time machine the family receives them without much skepticism Marvi goes and meets Maya who befriends her Marvi s twin brother Sumra arrives later with his friend They hide their time machine which they call Tracy One person there is suspicious of them and snoops around They try to keep him away. Maya's questjay Coming from the future and being scientists they help the people to develop their village into a flourishing town making roads drains and toilets They teach the people to breed chickens. Maya's Quest kindle store The romantic interest in the book is Maya and Marvi forming a gay couple Being from different eras it is difficult for them to stay together in a single time period Maya s father is the King Priest taken into confidence by Marvi and Sumra. Maya's questfest The book is the first of a series soon to be followed by a sequel The sequel will probably be even interesting showing how the story progresses The book is well researched as far as ancient history is concerned Kindle Edition Found this a really interesting read It s set in a part of the world that I haven t seen in many of the books that have crossed my path Loved getting a glimpse of history while being immersed in a good fiction The timeline repairs in Maya s time seemed to be done really fast but it is made clear later in the book that months had passed not day weeks Over happy to have received this ARC Kindle Edition Absolutely fascinating how Shireen weaves this fantastic sci fi tale on a region that no other author has explored this way before The writing makes Moenjadaro come alive the characters are intense and lovable and the story is exhilarating This is one of those books you just can not put down Kindle Edition
