Can hardly see through the tears that blur my vision And all I can think about is him about Bash Spoiler quoting over The quote above is literally EVERYTHING the entire plot of this book came down to This match And THIS is what we get Where are the stakes Where s the struggle One second I am reading her walking onto the court ready to face down her opponent to play the biggest match of her career at this point and all we get is Oh I m walking onto the court not even a half a second later I WON It was a real struggle but I did it and all I can think about is my asshole jerky coach who knows how to fuck me just right in under 60 seconds what the fuck kind of ending it that This is not to hate on the author at all because this book had so much amazing potential and it could have been than a Novella It could have been longer had the author put work into actually creating scenes and not just quickly rushing through them And the writing style in my picky and personal opinion was definitely there It wasn t really all that cringey like some books tend to be The issue really was just the pacing As mentioned before.

Make it a little lengthy Give us something to work with The steam of the scenes in this book literally amounts to first turning on your car when it s below freezing outside and you need to heat it up before you can drive There is not heat There was no patience and time Specifically. Desire, servedby there were no extensive details That s honestly just my problem with that The last things that I can think of that really think of that just irked me was how everything was a game Like the game had turned or something like that It was just an overused description for things that weren t even related to actual matches So basically their relationship had a game feel to it or whatever because that how it was described through I think the whole first 50% of the book And then the ending when Eliza and Bash had their make or break moment.

This book really did have potential and I hope that the author does intend to be thorough in future books because I would love to read but ONLY if we don t have a repeat of this pacing again I also do want to apologize for any spelling errors or grammatical mistakes It s a little late at night for me and I don t plan on rereading this right away before I post it I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is an honest review of my reading experience Harvest Hayes This was my first sports spicy sports romance novel and I gotta say I enjoyed it I loved the spice I finished the book in 2 days and I loved the fact that it was not a drawn out slow burn My only critique is I wish the book was longer. EBook Desire, served basis I received an advance review copy for free.

But I did read the authors note that their husband IS a coach and was asked to help with that accuracy which I think is fantastic The writing is fun The banter was nice The spice is also really enjoyable The only thing that kept me from giving a 5 star is I felt like the ending was too rushed The big moment that the whole book was centered on other than the relationship felt almost glossed over I think a page or two on the match would tip it into 5 star I love a strong willed and stubborn FMC Harvest Hayes

Novella Sports Romance tennis Coach Student Enemies to lovers ish Debut NovelThis was my first sports romance involving tennis and overall I found it enjoyable enough I understand this is just a novella but it felt too short for any relationship to actually develop and the spice wasn t as detailed as I would have hoped I absolutely loved the plot idea but again since it was so short the ending felt rushed and I was left wanting I received an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion3. Desire, Served bookworm 5 2 Harvest Hayes The only thing that I could say regarding this book was that I was REALLY feeling the story feeling the plot what little plot there was given it s a Novella and then at 80% the book just honestly went downhill Just a warning. Desire, Served booklet there ARE spoilers For starters I m not a huge fan of fast paced romances I love a good angsty slow burn Yet I was fully aware I was NOT gonna get that in this book Right off the bat I could tell there was an insta lust enemies to lovers forbidden romance vibe It was a very easy thing to pick up on in the small excerpt I read before accepting this book as an arc So I knew exactly what I was getting into as far as the vibe and pacing of the book which is why I m not going to allow it to affect my rating. Book Desire, served synonym too much The absolute biggest issue I had in this book was the last 10% This book and the plot had SUCH great potential And the writing was enough to draw me in I actually really liked the writing style besides a few things that did kind of irritate me on that later But that last 10% the literal PEAK of the plot of this entire book the WHOLE reason this book existed. Desire, Served booking it was rushed It wasn t even a story any It was a fucking monologue Not even that It reminds me of a quick story plot idea jotted down in your notes app to go back to later Except in this case it wasn t changed There was absolutely no elaboration to it AT ALL SPOILER WARNING I will be quoting the entire climax plot of this book. Desire, servedeck like the scene event that this entire book led up to The court stretches out before me a battlefield where I ll either emerge victorious or be vanquished I can see Bash in the stands still feeling him inside of me all over me The match is a blur and seems to stretch on for an eternity And when the final point is scored when the game ends in my favor the reality of it all crashes down on me I ve won I ve actually won I can hardly hear the roar of the crowd over the pounding of my heart I was completely aware that this book was like 100 pages so it wasn t gonna be deep or emotional and we weren t going to get any real character development but I did have the expectation that each scene was going to at least last 1 3 pages not a couple paragraphs Grant it earlier on in the book the scenes were or at least they seemed significantly longer Especially during the training sessions But the moment that book hit 80% everything was just rushed from there Which is where we get into my personal beef with the pacing of scenes specifically This is supposed to be a spicy book right Something quick easy and steamy. Desire, Served epub file right No Not right Quick Yes definitely quick Easy Eh frustrating but it is easy to read Steamy No Abso fucking lutely not Yes there are multiple smutty scenes that go into a little bit of detail but just like the quote provided above of the match that s about how quickly the smut is read Maybe a little bit but not by much I had at least hoped the smutty scenes would carry the length of this book simply because it was just a Novella but no it just matched the pacing of everything else I have absolutely no issues with fade to black scenes or simple recaps but if you re going to attempt to write a whole smut scene this bish legit had JUST gotten out of the shower and wrapped a towel around herself From what I read and reread like 4 times trying to find where she changed she stayed in that damn towel the whole time So when she left the hotel I imaged her still in that towel because WHEN DID SHE CHANGE That really bugs me I cannot find where that specific detail in that whole scene is I d like to think she wouldn t intentionally try to prove the point of what was the cause of said make or break moment between her and Bash So yeah.
