Syn and scandalmonger meaning I received an ARC of this book via BookSprout and voluntarily reviewed it English Hum how to start this review I have read a ton of Sandra s books and they never disappoint This one took me by surprise as it is over the top sexy steamy with tons of lust and desire between our couple Am stating this right up front so readers who don t like lots of passion and open door sex scenes will know not to buy this book That being said oh what a story this is Benedict or Syn to his friends has retreated to his country estate five years ago to stop living After he lost is small son in a horrible accident which he still blames himself for and then his wife shortly after as she couldn t live without her child His best friend William has tried everything to bring him back and get him to move one Nothing has worked yet While out riding he hears cries for help and find a women stuck in the bucket of his old wishing well After pulling her to safety he learns she is an American visiting a neighbor of his She has been thrown by her horse and sprinted her ankle Marjorie has come to England after the death of her husband to try and find some purpose to her life For the last twenty years she has been stuck in a loveless marriage to a nasty drunker who only thought of his own needs and nothing of her Married off by her father at a young age her life has been hard Her only love is her son Syn finds her very outspoken and frank nothing like English woman He is surprised by this attraction to her and also his flash of desire too Marjorie has found her cousin in law Dorcas only wants someone to wait on her She is tired of being under someone thumb Syn takes her to his home causing an uproar with his servants Both Syn and Marjorie can t hide there going desire from each other As they spend time together they find they both enjoy the other Marjorie is learning Syn is nothing like her late husband Syn has a ton of grief and sorry to overcome No matter how much they desire and lust after each other what will happen when she is healed His late wife ghost visits him when he needs a straight talking too I loved it This is a powerful story of love loss second chances hiding feelings and learning to trust and care for other Once you start it you will not be able to put it down Be ready to cry laugh want to slap someone and hug others It so good I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her This is my honest opinion an am freely giving it English A New Chance Of Happiness I really enjoyed this emotional story about a mature couple who get a second chance at love The well written plot is both heartbreaking and heartwarming with very endearing characters and plenty of steamy love scenes I particularly liked how the two of them complemented each other responded to each other s needs and how Marjorie brought courage and joy back into Syn s life A warning to readers If you respond to miscarriages suicide the death of a child and depression then this book is definitely not the right choice for you Since the death of his children and his wife Benedict Ormandy Marquess of St Synedon Syn has been living in seclusion on his country estate in the Lake District mourning the loss of his loved ones He contemplates ending his life to join them Nothing can bring him out of his depression until he rescues a bold beautiful American woman who is stuck in a wishing well on his property. Syn and scandalmania After a long unhappy marriage American widow Marjorie Stowe rejoices at the death of her husband and the freedom it gives her She is travelling to England to visit her late husband s cousin and perhaps become her companion Marjorie longs for adventure and passion When her gig breaks on a drive and she falls injured into a well she is rescued by the charismatic Marquess who takes her home with him They both immediately feel strongly attracted to each other and begin a passionate affair But Benedict feels as if he is betraying his late wife and is unwilling to open his heart to a new love and the pain that may come with itIf you like steamy historical romance novels with mature couples broken heroes spirited heroines and strong emotions you are sure to enjoy this book I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily English A very powerful and moving story with lots of steamy scenes Benedict Ormandy Marquess of St Synedon wants his life to be over dealing with depression after losing his wife and child years ago While out in the country he comes upon Marjorie Stowe a widow from America who is trying to get some purpose in her life after dealing with an uncaring husband Marjorie has been thrown from her horse and sprained her ankle The two are immediately attracted to each other but must deal with their personal demons in order to have a life together This story deals with grief loss second chances trust and loving again Through it all you can feel both of the characters emotions as they come to grips with their pasts and try to move on I think everyone can identify with each character in several areas of the story and it makes them so alive and the reader vested in them Well written as only Sandra Sookoo does with lots of steamy bits open on the page While I love me some steam it did get a bit over the top and too much at some times But the plot line and very well rounded characters kept my interest and I was so happy to see their HEA Recommended can be a stand alone easy read steamy and finishes up neatly I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review English Despite incredibly hard and traumatic losses and due to an accidental meeting a beautiful romance helps overcome pain and heartache developing into happiness and love I really enjoyed this delightful romance and recommend reading English
