I have to add my favourite quote Yet unbeknownst to them a love story like that of the one from the north and the one from the south could not be scripted it could not be dictated to but would organically unfold much like the poignant tales found within the pages of classic novels Contrary to the belief that authors craft these words and determine their direction I can attest otherwise These characters not only exist on the page but extend their vitality beyond it Their liberty in the name of love cannot be so easily edited or erased They are free spirits untouched by the constraints of writers with their wishes and whims They live and breathe surpassing the limits of mere prose. The three witches of milton book summary Before I say anything else I will make it clear that this book is not for everyone If you need lots of plot twists sex scenes or speedy action then this is not the book for you Instead it is exactly what it says on the blurb It is an exploration of the words of Elizabeth Gaskell Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte And honestly this book is possibly the best retelling I ve ever read The writing is sublime and the characters are spot on There were lots of funny bits and lots of emotional bits and it was written like poetic prose This book is a keeper The Three Witches of Milton A Gaskell Austen and Bront Crossover Criss Cross Crossovers I gave up in the middle of chapter four This narrative style doesn t appeal to me at all and the premise isn t grabbing my interest either I picked it up because I do like all three of the books it borrows from So far it s about a moping John Thornton who just wants solitude being ambushed by his mother and sister with three eligible young ladies that they hope might pull him out of his doldrums over Margaret Hale Shallow young women Miss Bingley from Pride and Prejudice Miss Ingram from Jane Eyre and Miss Latimer from North and South posture and preen for his attention none with any true interest in the man himself just his physical attractiveness his wealth and his social prominence in Milton These are the three witches. The three witches of miltontown fl The writing is jumpy and disjointed which appears to be an intentional choice on the author s part It s kind of a stream of consciousness approach Really not feeling this one The Three Witches of Milton A Gaskell Austen and Bront Crossover Criss Cross Crossovers From the moment I begun the first few pages I was hooked in The author s voice is strong and unique and to be honest made the book quite the delicious read It is the kind of book that made me want to read it aloud to fully appreciate the prose and sentiment expressed and indeed at times I found myself rereading a sentence just to properly savour it And I feel intelligent from having completed this novel What a bonus The author dealt to the MMC plight with a humour and wit was admirable and later the FMC s situation with a tenderness and empathy that was warming I could really feel that the author had absorbed the worlds and characters of these treasured authors wholly and fully and her respect for their works was evident in her writing It was delightful to come across familiar turns of phrase from each of them woven throughout. The three witches of miltonquist A delightful read The Three Witches of Milton A Gaskell Austen and Bront Crossover Criss Cross Crossovers I was so excited to read this and was sorely disappointed I love all three of the books and movie adaptations it s based on and was excited to see how this author made the characters interact. Book the three witches of milton township I was frustrated at the incredibly repetitive self pitying thoughts of Margaret I was bored enough that I fell asleep at least four times while reading I only pushed through to the end to prove to my husband that I could That being said I was occasionally amused by the inner thoughts of the three witches even going so far as sending my sisters my favorite quote Miss Thornton was in Miss Bingley s estimation a thoroughly puerile creature a wooden spoon if you will a foozler of the most irksome degree and so she was easy to persuade making it no effort at all to bend her to her will rendering her Miss Bingley s witless mimic The Three Witches of Milton A Gaskell Austen and Bront Crossover Criss Cross Crossovers As an avid fan of North South I truly enjoy fan written works that further John and Margaret s story The original book and miniseries end right as they get together so for those of us who love these two characters it s a special treat to read about what their life together might look like This author is so talented at capturing the character s spirits and what we might expect their internal dialogue to sound like This is the second book written by Caroline that I have enjoyed and I can t wait for the next one The Three Witches of Milton A Gaskell Austen and Bront Crossover Criss Cross Crossovers

This author loves alliteration so I ll say this book is a play of personalities and passions in a parlour pure perfection Marcia Harron The Scottish Script The Three Witches of Milton is a crossover novella which explores elements from Elizabeth Gaskell s North South Jane Austen s Pride Prejudice and Charlotte Bront s Jane Eyre Playing with quotes from these three inspirational novels and their iconic screenplays this story blends the classics together infusing them with an original plot all so that we might explore the intriguing relationship of similarities they possess showing us that while their storylines may be original their themes are universal enabling them to transcend the barriers of time and text and thus allowing them to intertwine beautifully with new characters and contexts John Thornton just wants to settle down by the fire after a long week at Marlborough Mills However when he enters his drawing room the master is horrified to find that far from being alone he is beset by the company of three guileful antagonists each one intent on trapping him with their feminine charms claiming this eligible bachelor for their husband Forced to ward off North South s Ann Latimer Pride Prejudice s Caroline Bingley and Jane Eyre s Blanche Ingram John must use his wit and wiles to evade the flirtatious enchantments of these three figurative witches of Milton But just as he thinks he has eluded their womanly spells they begin to sharpen their claws and vilify a certain young lady whom John cherishes in his faithful heart and that our literary hero will not stand for The Three Witches of Milton A Gaskell Austen and Bront Crossover Criss Cross Crossovers An amazing book Those who have given it bad reviews obviously don t appreciate quality writing Yes it was long Yes it technically didn t need to be as long but every sentence was beautiful I loved how the author mixed the characters and integrated the quotes A unique book I know the OAs would be proud of this The Three Witches of Milton A Gaskell Austen and Bront Crossover Criss Cross Crossovers The Three Witches of Milton: A Gaskell, Austen and Brontë Crossover (Criss-Cross-Crossovers).
