Heartfelt Roan showed strength in leaving a life of luxury continued mistreatment for a life of living in the wilderness on his own a life if his choosing Mell Eight Fantasy world with technology advances Second chance romance set in a kingdom that has just lost their king It s a nicely placed book that is what you expect from the authors shorter work I enjoyed it a lot it s one of those books that could give us but I m happy with what we got Mell Eight Really enjoyed this oneI knew the secret before it was unveiled but it didn t take away from the story I would love to see There wasn t any of the good guys that I didn t like I would love to see them spending time in the wilds as a couple fighting the monsters Mell Eight 
When Mell Eight was in high school she discovered dragons Beautiful wondrous creatures that took her on epic adventures both to faraway lands and on journeys of the heart Mell wanted to create dragons of her own so she put pen to paper Mell Eight is now known for her own soaring dragons as well as for other wonderful characters dancing across the pages of her books While she mostly writes paranormal or fantasy stories she has been seen exploring the real world once or twice. Gifting a dragon's heartf dnd When he learns his father is dying Roan leaves the wilds to return to the home he ran away from ten years prior Roan knows the inevitable family reunion will be difficult but then he meets Lyss his former beau who is the reason he had to leave Roan doesn t know what to feel or how to react to this older version of Lyss but before he can get his emotions in order a letter comes from the untamed wilds region telling him the town he s called home for the last ten years is under attack Traveling back to the wilds accompanied by Lyss ought to give Roan time to figure out his feelings However the army wyverns and dragons all make finding time to even speak with Lyss difficult Besides ten years is a long time When the battle is over Roan and Lyss have their own separate lives to return to assuming they both survive the fight to come Gifting a Dragon s HeartRoan and Sith might be a dog might be a cat journeying together to right wrongs and protect the Wilds Roan is a Wilds Roamer His roll as a Roamer has him protecting people far from civilization who need his help He likes his solitary existence well enough His sister reaching out to him calls him home Returning for his fathers funeral brings him back to his first love Lyss. Gifting a Dragon's Heart epub reader Intrigue as well as quite a bit of pomp were hallmarks of this story I thought the dragon hearts were an interesting plot device The author has many characters I ve liked but Roan is definitely a favorite Lyss to a lesser degree Sith alone was worth reading the book. Gifting a Dragon's Heart epub reader Review Copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads Mell Eight Another very cool world do jump into However the romance didn t really build once the two MCs saw each other again I was so excited for a delicious build and sexual tension but it was insta love Or I guess in this case insta re love Not my favorite but regardless of my personal preference I just don t think that part of the story was done well Mell Eight A nice short story in quite a unique world Predictable in some ways but considering and plot and its length I have no complaints The romance was surprisingly stifled considering this all felt very romance centered it felt like everything was orchestrated just so those two would meet again and finish their insta love Ten years is a long time but considering they met or were parted when they were 16 it makes sense The side characters and bad guys were the weakest part of this story I myself struggle with writing good opposition and it s this aspect that showed some chinks in what otherwise looks like solid world building The combination of ultra modern technology with the fantasy elements and dragons is unique at least to me as if every fantasy world has to be set in the proverbial dark ages Urban fantasy comes close but there s a difference between paranormals living amidst humans and a whole fantasy world that uses technology Mell Eight Hm So the worldbuilding is good and the characters are good and the plot is good If the author had managed not to start over explaining things there in the last few chapters it would ve been better I realize that some readers appreciate it but for me it feels patronizing and this author doesn t always do it Maybe it s whoever edits I don t know In this case that and a little rushing at the end took a five star story down a notch Worth reading could ve been perfect Mell Eight One of the accomplishments that sets some fantasy authors above others is their ability to take the fantasy fundamentals many of us grew up on and use them as the basis for a whole new magical fantastical system Mell Eight is one such author They have taken dragons and created a new element to dragons mythos that of the gift of a dragon s heart which must never be sold or used for profit rather than given freely In Gifting a Dragon s Heart the main character is Roan who has roamed the wilds in the world built by the author He is recalled home which he left ten years previously There he is reunited with Lyss his boyhood beau While I can empathize with Roan s dislike of crowded cities I applaud his devotion to duty both to his family and to his adopted town near the wilds He goes where he feels he is needed One of the reasons I enjoyed this story so much is the many twists and turns the narrative takes Not wanting to give any of these away I ll just say the tale follows Oscar Wilde s dictum on fiction The good ended happily and the bad unhappily I received a free advance copy of the book from Indigo Marketing and Design and am leaving this review voluntarily Mell Eight
