Promised to the Queen bookworm In other Mafia books the Mafia boss stands out as possessive and dominant but in this book Alessandra has a big heart and has good intentions towards Mia Yes she s protective to ensure her safety but once she gains her trust she allows her to function as her partner rather than a contract wife Mia is at first naive about how the Mafia world works but she s not ignorant and understands how to navigate it and defend herself This is an age gap story and the steaminess is sexy and passionate rather than submissive and dominant The book is less than 200 pages yet it doesn t feel rushed and the plot has a well written flow This is Book 1 of 2 The author has written several sapphic Mafia books and other sapphic thrillers Gay and Lesbian Romance Thriller This was so good it kept me reading til I finished it couldn t t put it down Mia s parents are going to marry her off to Alessandra to pay there debts But there always trouble I loved these characters the moment there eyes locked on each other at the beginning I thought this was a thilling and romantic read not knowing what was going to happen next and very interesting They have to work together and trust to get this marriage done But can they find love too and make this marriage work Well written 5 stars for me Gay and Lesbian Romance Thriller 
It begins with what s to be a fake marriage add in some mutual attraction some intrigue and mafia mayhem and a family that doesn t follow the code of honour among thieves It s a surefire recipe for who s behind the foreboding disquiet Well written and makes you want to know who and why Gay and Lesbian Romance Thriller I read the synopsis and my imagination had run away from me before I even started It never stood a chance living up to those expectations. Promised to the Queen ebookers Mia never stopped reading like a teenager and the mob was very high school Gay and Lesbian Romance Thriller 3 StarsI think the story needs a bit kick There are lots of areas where information was glossed over and it feels incomplete Gay and Lesbian Romance Thriller Exciting Mia s parents have arranged for her to marry Alessandra to have their debts paid but Mia is less than happy with the arrangement Alessandra understands her part to play in this arrangement and her place within her family but with a past meeting already setting the scene between her and Mia she s not sure she wants to fall for her the way she is This was such a dramatic story It had the dark edginess I have come to recognise as a style Barbara does expertly when delivering stories like this one It has multiple layers depth and there is always going on than the plot leads you to believe at first Both Mia and Alessandra were strong determined and focused and while they were going through the motions of what their families had arranged they were not backing down or ignoring their own goals and agendas This played so well into the tension instantly between them and surfacing at every opportunity until they really worked out what one another wanted When they started working together in this they were a formidable team and it brought unexpected surprises and twists in the story I couldn t have imagined when they were first introduced There was all that family politics that feeds a mafia themed romance and I thought both of them handled the situation eloquently and with that business savvy expected from women growing up in their families and surroundings Very excited to know what the future holds for these two and hoping for to their story in the future Gay and Lesbian Romance Thriller Somewhere between 4. Promised to the queenvt 5 First off I want to be clear that I enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend reading it if you like any of the tropes of fake marriage instant love sort of mafia romance and ice queens and I absolutely plan on reading book two. Book Promised to the queen elizabeth There were moments of brilliance when I got excited and was really engaged and then there were moments that felt like missed opportunity The scheming needed to be a bit gritty and nefarious for my taste and I just never fell in love with either of the FMCs Hence my somewhat conflicted rating Regardless though read it You will enjoy it Gay and Lesbian Romance Thriller
