Follow the Sound of Snow: The Snow Queen Retold site_link post a commentOthers have commented that this story has both tension and wholesomeness which is true but my favorite part is how it maintains the mystical wonder of a fairy tale while still having a satisfying plot I love Gerda as a protagonist and I found some of her magical encounters legitimately creepy Just great all around Kindle Edition What a fun read This story truly captures the whimsical yet sometimes eerie fairy tale atmosphere complete with a touch of rhythmic rhymes sprinkled throughout Beautiful use of language overall The concept of the main character being able to hear what inanimate objects sound like lived well up to its promise the hourglass was my absolute fave and it served the plot as well as the main character s personal arc to great effect And to top it off the finale was just right a balanced delivery of fairy tale ending but with the positive type of messaging you d hope for from something modern Highly recommend Kindle Edition A lovely little tale The Snow Queen has always been one of my favorite stories and I so enjoyed reading this take on the story I loved that Gerda s strengths are in seeing and hearing truly and I really enjoyed the luscious language This did what the best of fairy tale re imaginings should do it carries the spirit of the original but has its own unique message and still manages to surprise and delight Kindle Edition
