Excuse the pun but I devoured this novella A chilling story that discusses the theme of brotherhood and the relationships you form during your youth through an unexplainable unnatural event. Mawkingly This novella creates an eerie and unsettling atmosphere perfectly fitting the horror genre It does not rely on gore or violence to scare the reader but instead focuses on the fear of the unknown and the harsh reality that is brutal and unpredictable human behaviours I was pulled into this story and kept on the edge of my seat throughout The plot twist left me with my jaw on the floor I cannot express the joy I got out of reading this story Personally I just wish we got some answers to where the maw originated from the how and why A short fast paced novella that will have you hooked A genuinely enjoyable and eerie horror novella I will be recommending to all my fellow fans of the creepy and unusual Thank you so much to the author for an ARC of The Maw in exchange for an honest review The Maw by Seann Barbour The Maw is a novella that explores the bond between two brothers using a giant mouth as basis for their sometimes tumultuous relationship When Freddie invites his younger brother to hang out in the back of a shuttered mall with the rest of his high school friends he readily agrees Freddie is the king of his school and this gives his younger brother some good cred Everything looks good as time goes on Until one day they and their friends find a mouth on the wall of the abandoned building Messing around Freddie pushes someone into it and when the mouth closes and opens again the boy is gone A video of the event goes viral and Freddie is charged with manslaughter That s all I ll say about the plot because this serves as the background for the paths both of them take as a result Things aren t the same between them any longer as the younger brother is ostracized yet Freddie seems to get his mojo back rapidly leading up to his trial It s this examination of the bonds between brothers that really makes this novella sing Was what happened just an accident Freddie seems unbothered even as his brother has doubts And the ending will culminate with an even bigger question No spoilers of course but again we ll be faced with the question of true intent I love how this mouth is just kind of there It really doesn t do anything and it doesn t seem threatening in and of itself unless something is fed to it This novella also examines how even the weirdest things can eventually become normal over time I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I highly recommend it I want to thank the author for sending me a copy This review is voluntary and is my own personal opinion The Maw by Seann Barbour A big mouth shows up in an old strip mall and everyone is just it is what it is This is such a creatively chilling short story that explores the bonds of brotherhood and the normalization of things that should never be normalized with time The Maw felt like a Stephen King novel and while not overly graphic or gory was so unsettling We like it when there are clear cut heroes and villains and we don t like it when people are well people The Maw by Seann Barbour Seann nailed this A mysterious mouth appears at the back of the mall and like any group of teens they are curious Rough housing near the mouth leads to a tragedy A trial and revenge later and I m reeling Such a cool short little horror story The formatting style is complete with news articles and descriptive story telling that sucks you in Loved this one great job Seann ARC REVIEW The Maw by Seann Barbour An excellent novella that has a creepy vibe to it Had fun reading this and it left me wanting The Maw by Seann Barbour

From the author of The Last Day comes a new piece of kafkaesque weird horror On the side of an old abandoned building in an old abandoned shopping center there is a Mouth It s a human mouth and one that s big enough to drive a car through It stands open and unmoving teeth and tongue exposed to the world The first people to find it are a bunch of teenagers among them the Dowel Freddie and Simon They re just kids and the thing about kids is that they re curious and they re reckless It s not long before the brothers find themselves in the center of a terrible tragedy Word spreads Tempers flare Fingers are pointed and bonds are broken In the wake of an awful loss a community grows sick and Simon s life begins to crumble apart And through it all the Mouth remains open and unmoving hungry and waiting It calls and one day soon it will be answered The Maw by Seann Barbour Mark my words reality will bite you if you re not careful A vast amount of creativity was put into this without a doubt Thank you Seann for sending me a copy of this pleasantly grim book During the first few pages I was engrossed by the relationship between Freddie and Simon Freddie is his big brother who cares for him deeply As in most coming of age books we have heartfelt scenarios in a parking lot where all the high schoolers gather There is no one clique here everyone is welcome Eventually the Lot becomes this gigantic mouth and a horrible accident happens to some of the town s kids Through the chapters we witness a trial the reality of cruelty to a boy s esteem and curiosity Scientists do their best to discover where the mouth came from while Simon tries to find peace It was a creative short story and I look forward to work from the author The Maw by Seann Barbour Read for SFINCS 2 RTC The Maw by Seann Barbour What a strange and creepy idea for a horror story but I had fun reading it Great characters and settings. Ebook mcgraw hill After a strange giant mouth appears on the back of a abandoned shopping mall a group of teenagers witness one of their friends accidentally entering this mouth which results in them disappearing What has happened Have they been eaten alive or have they entered another dimension This is quickly followed by one of the teenagers being accused of murder and his younger brother becoming obsessed with this mysterious mouth and it s motivations Short and sweet horror novella that s not overly scary and bloody This is perfect for someone who wants to get into reading horror. Ma kindle ne fonctionne plus As a bonus the author as included three short stories at the back which I mostly enjoyed Highly recommend The Maw by Seann Barbour This was one of the weirdest most creative novellas I ve ever read A giant mouth on the side of an old shopping center that just appears out of nowhere No one knows where it came from or where it leads to This novella packed a major punch for being just a novella We see a descent into obsession from our MC Simon after a tragedy strikes the group he hangs out with at the Lot His obsession with the Mouth takes over his life Barbour does a phenomenal job painting picture perfect scenes for this novella detailing everything perfectly This novella brought forth feelings of sympathy for our MC at times and others I felt scared for him as I watched him descend into his obsession I highly recommend this novels if you love weird creative inventive stories The Maw by Seann Barbour Mouth go chomp chomp The Maw by Seann Barbour site_link post a commentThe Maw by Seann Barbour.
