The author s passion and love for the genre leaps off the page Highly recommend for fans of Louis L Amour and men s adventure fiction Thriller Crime Suspense I stumbled onto LS Goozdich on Instagram and was immediately intrigued by his books Frozen Wrath being the first and his focus on bringing back the fun pulp fiction of yesteryear Goozdich s appreciation of men s adventure fiction and modern day military thrillers comes through in his writing This newest book Vipers and Red Rocks is a fast and exciting adventure Short in length at 130 pages but just right in quality and vintage goodness Even Goozdich s decision to publish the paperback in the old classic pulp paperback size is fun to read It reminds me of reading Louis L A s books The story follows Hunter former military and police who is living off the land and bringing vengeance on some bad guys It fits nicely with the neo western books of today like CJ Box s Joe Picket or Craig Johnson s Longmire I love this genre and found Vipers and Red Rocks to hold its own in the genre I also must make note of the improvement in story telling and writing style The clever word smithing is still there but in a controlled mature way Additionally the harsh brutality of before is replace with a narrative that I can recommend to anyone especially due to the redemptive quality of this plot Well done LS 5 Recommended Can t wait for the next one Thriller Crime Suspense Luke s third novel showcases a fundamental shift in him as a writer and I believe lays the foundation for an impactful body of work that is yet to come While this book maintains the great action and beautiful prose that characterized his first two works I was most struck by the weightiness of the message it carries I watched a video of Luke describing his experience coming to the Lord between his second and third books and it s blatantly obvious to me that now beyond being a writer capable of sharing a good story he s also a writer carrying a truly meaningful message There s wisdom and insight in this book that I know could not have happened without the personal growth and transformation he has experienced in recent years He s grown his own character and so he is able than ever to WRITE a compelling character Add to that the fact that this book is FULL of Louis L amour easter eggs and you ve got the makings of something awesome So is L. S Goozdich the next coming of Louis L amour I think we ll just have to wait and see But I ll tell you this I m going to be watching him real close like Great work brother Favorite Quote Everyone has it figured hunting is about killing It s about getting some trophy winning some game Really the best a hunt has to offer is right here in the silence Settling that crosshair means settling your spirit It s about knowing why you re taking a shot and being sure of it There s a communion between man and nature that transcends the mere act of pulling a trigger It s a connection to our primal past a recognition of the weight carried by every hunter who has walked this path before us You re not just holding a gun you re shouldering a legacy a responsibility passed down through generations When you pull that trigger you re not just releasing a bullet you re sending forth a message about the man that you are Thriller Crime Suspense If there was one way to describe Vipers and Red Rocks think of it like a modern day Louis L Amour Western Thriller Crime Suspense
