The Tranquil Lantern (The Tranquil Lantern #1) By Nina Carver
Book the tranquil lantern tour
This is a story that packs a punch with vivid imagery and world building You can easily devour the book in a sitting or two Truly enjoyable Special thanks to the author for the ARC All thoughts in this review are honest and my own The Tranquil Lantern The Tranquil Lantern 1 I really enjoyed this book The characters were built well based on the needs of the book and the world was developed as the story unfolded I enjoyed the character development of Sophie and I m hoping for a second book to have character development of Filoro I also loved how Sophie and Filoro s relationship developed through the book The romance was developed well and not too quickly Overall.

Books Review The Tranquil Lantern by Nina CarverRating This one was so quick incredibly fast paced and an absolute joy to read If you re looking for a quick romantasy read this is it Even with it being a quick read it doesn t lack in plot development character growth and adventure The world building alone draws you in from the start Sophie and Filaro are such fun characters with great chemistry I m a big fan of slow burn and angst and this book DELIVERS Nina I can t wait for The Tranquil Lantern The Tranquil Lantern 1 what an interesting fast paced book thank you so much nina for the arc rtc The Tranquil Lantern The Tranquil Lantern 1 Excellent book The storyline was filled with loveable characters and pulled me in straight from the beginning This book gives darkness adventures dreams love passion and fantasy all at the same time Definitely recommend and would give 10 stars if I could I m ready for the next adventure It was truly an honor to read this ARC The Tranquil Lantern The Tranquil Lantern 1 Overall this book needed another round of edits in my opinion to make it reach its full potential The premise of the book is familiar but excellent the FMC sets out in search of adventure and a better life when there s nothing left for her in her town She crosses paths with the MMC an attractive elf who begrudgingly agrees to form an alliance as they explore hidden levels of magical ruins All very promising The story is paced well and the timing of the story works to move it along providing descriptive detail without dragging the story down The language of the characters in the story however does not fit the age afforded to the FMC nor does it fit the target adult audience Although there are moments of well written lines generally the language hinders the storytelling and takes an adult reader out of the narrative But I think if both characters were aged down to perhaps mid to late teens and all sexual contact beyond kissing was removed the story would improve vastly and the language chosen would fit a younger target audience Further the scenes with sexual contact are areas where the author has room to learn and grow so the removal of them would afford the author that time to do so If the goal is to cater to an adult audience the language used by the main characters needs to be elevated and updated to reflect age appropriate parlance There is also so much potential for the world the author started to build There needs to be information about the land where the story takes place about the history of the people and a full explanation of the lore All of which could go into the book whether it stays an adult fiction or becomes a YA novel The end of the story also perfectly sets up another book with plenty of potential content to come As I said I think the bones of a really great story are here and I wish the best for the author I appreciate receiving an ARC from her The Tranquil Lantern The Tranquil Lantern 1 First off thank you to the author for the ARC This book was given an exchange for an honest review I pride myself and giving honest reviews even when I m super appreciative for a free book. The Tranquil lanternpay tac I appreciate the author putting herself out there and reaching out Overall this on was ok this may be a situation of with me It s not you when it comes to be in the target audience I think I didn t exactly click with the writing right away and it took a bit for me to get immersed in the story The vibes of the writing very much fairytale once upon a time which I usually love but something here pulled me out I think it was that I knew this was not a young adult read but it felt very much like a young adult read in narrative I kept wanting the FMC to be mature and for there to be detail in the story It was a good bit of tell rather than show which actually fit the fairytale style narrative well but as far as a fantasy novel I wanted deeper roots and immersion On the flip side the descriptions were quite good I had no issues picturing the Land and locations I just wanted for overall background We got a lot of good crumbs and there are certainly good parts of the story I would definitely read another book by this author and have good expectations this one just wasn t the exact perfect fit for me I do recommend giving it a go and trying out this new author if you like stylized fairytale story writing The Tranquil Lantern The Tranquil Lantern 1
