Death in the sunshine book m local time Emily accidentally dropped her phone on the floor completely out of her reach It took forever to get off the plane but they finally got in line and showed their passports then went to wait for their luggage to show on the conveyor belt Hopefully there would be a rental car left Before she could find out a customs officer motioned her over and picked through her suitcase Her impatience to get to the car rental made the officer suspicious and carefully examined her underwear as his embarrassed young trainee looked away By the time she got to the car rental they had rented it to someone described as Avery Her suitcase wouldn t even fit in the trunk of the car they gave her now Finally arriving a neighbor Vivienne St Clair invites her to a welcome party to meet everyone Oddly the tension in the room was uncomfortable And Vivienne was off somewhere else while strangers introduced themselves to Emily Vivienne s nasty estranged husband Richard arrived with his assistant and they may have been kissing before she opened the door Squabbling soon began as guests didn t like the others and wouldn t sit next to them and others argued over plants and complained about the food about to be offered especially when the ensalada di pulpo had been made with yellow onion when everyone knows only red onion is allowable With all the rudeness there I would have left the country immediately The highlight of the meal was when Richard coughs up blood and keels over into his plate after his wine was apparently poisoned Unfortunately and I am leaving this review voluntarily P.
Death in the sunshine book Pros Besides being entertained by a book I like to learn a little something too Having this book take place in Spain gave me a small insight of what moving to a small village there would be like without the dead bodies And the food descriptions were enough to make my mouth water.
Death in the sauna dennis altman Cons A very slow start to the book I was getting impatient for the mystery to begin I put the book down a number of times but then I would try again the next day and I m glad I did somewhere around chapter nine it finally got rolling I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily P.
Book death in the city I attempted to give this book a fair chance to capture my attention but after reading five chapters I had to abandon it The story lacked action and mystery and I did not find the main character appealing Her journey to Spain and the process of setting up her inherited old house did not pique my interest enough to continue reading Even though I was expecting a mystery I couldn t wait any longer to get to it However I don t believe it was poorly written I m just not the target audience for a slow burn type mystery P.
