She was his bride book So he sets up a plan to kidnap the man s daughter who is to be wed soon Tara is her father s most prize possession but she is a smart strong woman She gets kidnapped by Jack when shopping for ribbons for her wedding dress During their time and trials together Tara realizes her father is not the man she thought he was She also realizes her growing feelings for Jack Jack to over time comes to terms with his feelings for Tara as she seems to be his missing piece Can these two overcome all and be together I really enjoyed the read and are looking forward to the next in the series. The bride he stoleand When Jack Maclean returns home to Isle of Mull after years in the war against the English alongside the Bruce he is determined to take revenge on Laird Mackinnon the man who brutally murdered his father and tyrannises the island He kidnaps the Laird s daughter Tara who Mackinnon wants to marry off to another clan laird in order to build up his army and a strong alliance But the kidnapping doesn t go as smoothly as expected Tara puts up fierce resistance together they get into dangerous situations and Jack falls hopelessly in love with his enemy s daughter who would do anything for her father and her clanIf you like authentic Scottish medieval romance novels with fierce heroes and defiant heroines in a beautiful setting you will love this book I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily Romance Historical Fiction Fantasy For a story that I finished pretty quickly it really packed in A LOT of action There were a lot of tropes and themes that I very much enjoy medieval setting immediate heart eyes revenge turns to regret abduction road trip forced proximity just one horse That horse got stolen waaayyyy too soon in my opinion The people demand just one horse situations family feuds and betrayal adventure at sea emotional hero. The bride he stole fantasy world I could go on Jack and Tara were a couple that really grew on me during the course of this story There are several references to Jack having been blinded by his need for revenge but I felt like don t tell me show me because that wasn t my experience reading his character. The bride he stolef epub so maybe a bit of a disconnect there He falls first and hard for Tara but she s still reeling from the upheaval in her life caused by his actions to reciprocate I appreciated later that she didn t try to fight her feelings for him too hard. The stolen bride series Good side characters too and I m already anticipating their stories Finn and Astrid absolutely and Logan Black gimme gimme The big bad does not get resolved in this story I can tell this is an overall arc that will be developed over several books and I ain t even mad about it I will absolutely be keeping my eye out for the next in this series.
