I did not know the type of emotional distress I would experience from these books I love going into books blind but mannn Book one had me SOBBING I was not prepared haha Okay let s break down this series Book one The Beach in The Winter Man on man this book hurt I cried for Ever Single Character Even the pup I cried but it was so worth it The plot was superb The spice was spicyyy The character development was so great I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good grief cry Book two The River in SpringI loved how this one started out I loved it up until the part where he outed himself for thinking his comfort is important I wanted to punch this man in the face haha But it ended perfectly Book three The Sky in The Summer Im a sucker for single mom BIG SUCKER This was so good I loved that the boys were already close to the family I loved that Van treated Layla how she deserved and Highly recommend Book four The Leaves in Autumn So I m going through my seasonal depression and I also suffered from late postpartum depression so this book hit REALLY HARD I sobbed uncontrollably just thinking about what his wife must have felt I loved Barbra and Aargon The date for her birthday was perfect and I still think about it Overall I d definitely recommend this series Just know it s a lot emotional than the covers let on haha The audios for this book are also great Each cast adds a new depth to the characters Lyon Family Series I received this audio box set from Home Cooked Books as an ALC. Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor What cast of great narrators Each one brought each and every character to life They all made me feel the emotions I laughed and cried They were all amazing but have to say Jason Samantha were my favorites out of the four books This was my first time reading Leslie Pike and I just loved her writing She really knows how to develop these characters and their stories All these characters are broken in some ways and we see how these characters accept things and find love along the way. The Lyon family antics are so lovely and it s nice to be able to catch up with the couples from the previous books. Winter Parrish and Scarletts story were so cute and made me love each character This review is written sadly during the time of the Joe Arden controversy I separate artist from person but due to everything going on i will not comment on him i wish cancel culture would go away though anyways Maxine Mitchell is very well my favorite female narrators and to be honest these two narrators always do so great together Book 3 A River in Spring I could not listen to it as much as i loved each book the male narrator Lance Greenfield just seemed too robotic for me I couldn t stand listening to first few chapters I didn t even make it to hear the female narrator Stella Bloom in this book This is the only story I dnf though in the series Book 4 The Sky in Summer was my second favorite in the series It made me laugh so much during some of Van and Laylas conversations I truly LOL in some places The narrators are Zachary Webber Stella Hunter and they both did phenomenal in my opinion These two I believe are new to me narrators and i would gladly listen to them both again Book 5 The Leaves in Autum narrated by Jason Clarke Samantha Brentmoor was a pretty good read I m not a fan of the tropes where they just hide feelings for each other until the epilogue i mean come on give us some of the good times after being together It did have some spice to it but i would have loved to see of them together I am glad this didn t even with the HEA of having a baby though not everyone s HEA is a pregnancy Overall for this whole series i would definitely recommend listening to it it was great getting to know each character however if long in detailed books are your thing this won t quite hit the mark It was of a quick easy read that was over quickly It was a nice pallet cleanser Lyon
