The wallflower's midnight waltz book summary When Simon the Marquess of Sedgewick sees Lord Cartwright making unwanted advances to one of the wallflowers he was unwilling to ignore the crass behavior Lord Cartwright was touching Alice s arm inappropriately ignoring her objections and making her terribly uncomfortable He had found out who her father was and felt he had the right to take liberties with her which he felt did not give her any protection as the other ladies are given So as the obnoxious Lord Cartwright tried to force a kiss on Alice the man was dragged backwards away from her and reprimanded loudly by Lord Sedgewick for such atrocious behavior He further warned Lord Cartwright to stay away from ALL of the wallflowers and he told the man that he was a disgrace The other gentlemen though they did not help were all nodding in agreement with Lord Sedgewick.
