I love these sweet murder mysteries Cassie is back in murder solving mystery action Having the story involve a bakery makes it fun to me A great mystery series by Tammy Beck English I enjoyed the first book in this series but the second book fell short for me Cassie couldn t control her emotions and had to apologize A LOT I understood why the bad person did what they did in the first book but this one just seemed disconnected for me English Entertaining cozy mystery. Book buttercream and bloodshed review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review English This is such an enjoyable cozy mystery I found myself at the edge of my seat fearing for Cassie as the killer tried so hard to frame her The police and their investigation frustrated me because it seemed like they were always just one step ahead since the clues looked like they were not in any order at all Grateful that the book ended the way it did and I can t wait for the next installment in the series I would recommend this if you love cozy mysteries and cool heroines English Make sure u read book 1 Cupcakes and Carnage for full character experience Harmony Bay is at it again 6 months after the 1st book Someone dropped off a cupcake at a doorstep and claimed to be Cassie s cupcakes when they definitely aren t Why are these dangerous gifts bein sent to people Someone was sendin out prank boxes but who and why Since the Spring Festival is comin up and a competition since Mandy Wells opened up a bakery too and taken Cassie s clientele cause Mandy is copyin Cassie s goodies The Demarais and Wells feud was an old age family grudge With not knowin who the unknown person tryin to frame Cass she is havin a hard time bein happy I really like Sam and Cassie s can be a lil of a temperamental to him And Leo is an amazing cop with Sam They always was step behind this ghost until they weren t It was a cute cozy read I m excited for the next book in the series English Buttercream and Bloodshed is a murder mystery that started off on a strong note However throughout the book it felt difficult to understand the strong feelings that our MC Cassie exhibited towards everyone else She was such a strong reactor and it left little room for her to develop or to be seen as a well rounded character Our villain didn t feel super well developed either It was definitely easy to predict who it was and towards the end the story felt a bit silly with how dramatic the climax became specifically with the bomb scene A positive was that the writing was consistent throughout the book and I did enjoy all the baking components There were a few proofreading errors but not many.
