First time felon 1997 I received a review copy from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion 284 I received an advance copy of this book from the author This is the eighth book in a series I highly recommend reading if you enjoy crime fiction The author draws upon his 20 years of law enforcement experience to create characters plots and settings that are impossible to put down His books are also spot on accurate in the police procedural aspect Readers will feel like they re sitting right next to the action observing every second You ll find yourself rooting for Dickie and Josie while also sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next 5 stars 284 Outstanding character development over this book and the entire Dickie Floyd series Danny Smith has done his level best to suck you in and make you like and admire these characters Granted I got an early look at this book since I was one of Danny s beta readers but I would have purchased this one nonetheless This is one of my favorite books in the series It really helps you experience the character development if you read them in the order which Mr Smith has written them I heard one suggestion from a mutual friend read the first two or three books in the series and then read Danny s memoirs Nothing Left To Prove It helps you understand his viewpoint on his life in law enforcement I wish that I had done that Don t forget to read The Outlaw which is a standalone novel involving another character who originated in the series I sincerely hope that Danny expands upon this series The protagonist Rich Farris is a great character to develop into another Josie Sanchez Dickie Jones style character Strong morals with normal human facilities I can see that the two series have the possibility of a large amount of coexistence and interplay.
