But the characters were what made it ore fun and lively I ve come to enjoy this author s other shorter books and quick resolution of mysteries I was sure I d end up liking this book too which definitely was another winner A couple main mysteries were solved in the book but one still remains and it sounds like that s gonna be addressed in the next book Gotta love that Maggie She s a nervous rambler when she talks and not even when she s just nervous Maggie s a hoot for sure and I can t wait for the next book Fortunately there s only a little while to wait Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel Longhorn Trucking Mysteries Book 1

Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel by Katherine H Brown is the first book in the Longhorn Trucking Mysteries and I really enjoyed it It s a really quick read at 100 pages Though the mystery is solved in this book there s a bigger mystery that will be solved in the next one so think of this as a sort of prequel I loved getting to know Maggie She s a typical probably a Millennial or Gen Z lol young adult who got everything she wanted as a child except attention Now that her father has died she s quickly learning about just how much he sacrificed to keep her in designer shoes Maggie won t inherit her dad s trucking business unless she earns it by completing three specific deliveries in one of the trucks She doesn t have a CDL and these trucks are huge And you can t just get your CDL without going through the temps period so Maggie has to have someone with a CDL along for the ride This someone might end up being a potential love interest We ll have to see I really like his character too You ll meet a fun trucker along the way too The mystery in this book is fast paced and since it s short you ll be through it in no time It was fun trying to figure things out and I m looking forward to figuring out the big mystery with Maggie and her new friends I think cozy mystery fans will enjoy this quick introduction to the Longhorn Trucking Mysteries as much as I did It has characters that you ll enjoy getting to know and a mystery you ll be eager to solve I definitely recommend it I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book All views expressed are only my honest opinion Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel Longhorn Trucking Mysteries Book 1 I enjoyed Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel When her father dies Maggie is forced to work in the family business in order to get her inheritance That also means that she can no longer afford her condo or her car now that she is without her father s monetary help I liked that the main character was a female trucker I liked that Maggie didn t give up when she had to learn how to drive a truck This book solves one mystery but the mystery of her father s murder will be solved in book two Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel Longhorn Trucking Mysteries Book 1 Katherine H Brown also writes as site_link Katherine BrownKatherine Brown is a Texas girl book lover and weaver of words Katherine enjoys creating relatable and lovable characters and is recently occupied by crafting a number of cozy mysteries. Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel booking e that she has to work for Longhorn Trucking and carry out 3 deliveries The only problem with this is Maggie would much rather be shopping then driving a truck across the country However when her car is repossessed and she s evicted from her condo she realizes she s going to have to put on her fanciest boots and take up truck driving to survive I instantly loved this book Like absolute instant infatuation Maggie is a little spoilt but not in an obnoxious way She wasn t close to her father but she takes on the task of learning to be a truck driverwith aplomb She is a plucky heroine and does what needs to be done In the course of this she also takes to investigating her father s death as she doesn t believe it to be an accident. Magpie Maggie Takes the wheellator I loved the cast of characters and the mystery surrounding her father s death Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel is a little shorter than some of the cozy mysteries I ve read and I m totally here for this length It was the perfect length to get me hooked on the mystery and all the people in Maggie s life Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel gave me the same feels as the Stephanie Plum Mysteries by Janet Evanovich and the Baker Street Mysteries by Valerie Burns both series which I love She s got changes in her life and she s not afraid to take those changes and run with them I absolutely can t wait to see what she gets up to next Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel Longhorn Trucking Mysteries Book 1 The author gives us a story of estranged daughter and father only it is to late her Dad has passed. Book Magpie Maggie Takes the wheeler Yes Maggie was a selfish young lady and she wasn t close to her father at all but she got an awakening when she learned several things about him from his employees She didn t have any idea about truck driving but when she realized she didn t have a choice she put everything she had into it I know the written test isn t easy and driving an 18 wheeler takes practice and patience I had to suspend reality a little bit because Maggie took to it way too fast especially backing up the huge truck and trailer Even experienced drivers have trouble She was tested when out on the highway too and while stressful she handled it. Magpie Maggie Takes the wheeling intelligencer Ms Brown packs these pages with a lot of action and excitement Sabotage threatening notes a break in a Molotov cocktail clues found in strange places slashed tires and one heck of a highway incident had me absolutely clued to these pages. EPub Magpie Maggie Takes the wheel Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel was a quick entertaining read with a determined protagonist I can t wait for her adventures to continue especially with the impulse purchase she made at the end of the book Breaker Breaker I give Ms Brown a big 10 4 message received we will 10 12 stand by but we have a 10 33 emergency We need Book 2 ASAP Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel Longhorn Trucking Mysteries Book 1 Clocking in at only 181 pages Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel is an absolute five star delight It s a fast paced mystery full of humor and adventure and Maggie is definitely a character I rooted for She may have been floating through her life shopping and spending her father s money but now faced with a big challenge she s all in and I love that about her There s something so fun about watching a character grow up with grace and humor Speaking of humor there are definitely some laugh out loud scenes as well as some suspenseful scenes The way these two elements are woven together so seamlessly is pretty impressive especially for such a short book I could also easily visualize the setting especially Maggie s new living arrangements and I am super excited that she has gained a side kick no spoilers here I just pre ordered book two in the Longhorn Trucking Series Magpie Maggie Takes the Heat which will be published on April 19 2024 because I want to keep up with Maggie s life Highly recommend Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel for cozy readers who want a short fun treat Magpie Maggie Takes the Wheel Longhorn Trucking Mysteries Book 1 I wasn t real sure how I d like a trucking themed cozy mystery.
