This is a great short story that s perfect if you like a morally grey man saving the girl who he s only just set eyes on I like the fact that the chapters are short enough that you don t feel like it d dragging on forever Sophia just turned 18 and is now being forced into the casino that her step brother George runs after her older sister took money from their family bank account and then left them But could her luck be about to change when she accidently spilled wine over one of the customers and is given a way out with them. The Bandit's Lady kindle reader Matteo is a con man who s in the middle of a job in the casino when his eyes land on the gorgeous severe in there though he s shocked at the way she s treated by the owner when she spills wine over him After being given a room to change and clean up he makes a plan to get her out of there. The Bandit's ladyishness I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review Kindle Edition Part of the Rule Breakers series a quick read but keep in mind once you start it you won t stop until the last page has been turned Sophia is such a sweetheart but isn t living her best life after her parents died she was still underage stuck with an evil stepbrother who runs an illegal casino among other things and when her sister steals from him he forces her to work it off in his establishment Mato sexy as all get out grifter who happens to be in the casino pulling a con but when the very young waitress spills a drink on him he if offered her by her older stepbrother who just isn t a nice man and so he agrees to take her but behind close doors he explains he wants her not for a moment but for the long run but her brother allow her to leave will he have to steal her away along with some of his profits he has coming in will her sister come back why did she leave her with a man who was horrid and can they find something than grifting running like happiness Kindle Edition This little novella has some serious dark moments Sophia resides with her only living relative her 30 year old stepbrother George She just turned 18 and she is innocent beautiful kind and just wants freedom to live her life and go to school Her evil and abusive stepbrother is forcing her to work as a prostitute in his casino to earn him back the 40k that her older sister stole when she ran away Her first night working in the casino she accidentally pours a drink on Matteo who takes one look at her bruised face and fearful eyes and wants to protect her For spilling a drink on him George tells Matteo that she will make it up to him in whatever way he wants in one of his private rooms Let s make it clear Sophia is not there willingly by any means none of the girls are once a customer chooses them they will be beaten if they don t go along Matteo meets her in the private room but does not touch her instead he helps her regain her power in a pretty erotic scene and then helps her escape the casino taking her to his rental penthouse suite They are together for a few weeks while Matteo finishes up the con that he was running in New York and then they are getting ready to go to Washington DC where Matteo lives to start their life together when a bunch of her George s goons attack them hurting Matteo and kidnapping Sophia She is brought back to the casino and forced into a private room but Matteo shows up and with the help of the authorities rescues her and the other girls they arrest George and the other Johns before Sophia was hurt or forced to do anything There is a cute epilogue ten years out with them happily and still passionately married with three beautiful kids They are both realizing their childhood dreams her as a therapist and Matteo running his own successful New York hotels This book has so much packed into it and I definitely recommend it Lizzy West is quickly becoming a go to author for me I generously received a free copy of this book from the author via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review Kindle Edition Though I thought the idea was good the story was not as well executed as I had hoped and didn t flow as smoothly as Lizzy s contributions to the Taming the Boss series I d recently read Sophia was an innocent surrounded by horrible people including her stepbrother George who decided to pimp her out to work off the money her sister had stolen before she ran off Lovely family Luckily Sophia ran into Matteo on her first night on the job and Matteo was instantly captivated by the green eyed beauty I would have preferred Matteo to be anything but a conman as this did not conjure images of a valiant hero in my mind but hey each to their own After rescuing her from the casino they inexplicably stay in town for a fortnight to give George and his henchmen plenty of time to regroup it seems Nor is Matteo concerned with ensuring Sophia s safety I felt there was little to no romance between Sophia and Matteo before they spent the night together though they seemed to fall in love within a day While I love instalove romances this just didn t have that vibe as illustrated by Matteo thinking I ve never felt this sated not even when I was a little boy celebrating Thanksgiving with my family after having the best sex of his life.
