This collection of Bible studies digs deep into the Bible passages and stories surrounding it incorporating truths from throughout the Bible and some thoughts from her own life It feels like a Bible study with a friend Hollie looks at Greek and Hebrew roots meanings of words which can be interesting but I found on some occasions didn t add much to the study The applications are really helpful and build from the things in the passage One I really related to was at the end of chapter 13 looking at the life of Hannah mother of Samuel the importance of waiting for God s timing and how going through struggles in our own life teaches us many things and helps us to care for others in similar situations I think the studies could have dug a bit deeper maybe into Hollie s life to illustrate the importance of the lessons Hollie McAllister
