I ve posted my review of Myth Touched on my blog link here I will be really glad if you check it outI received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review Joanna Maciejewska Most of what I want to talk about in this book is a spoiler so I m omitting most of it Picking right back off where we left Kaja we plunge back into the tensions brewing in Ireland and tension are rising Once again I loved this stories take on urban fantasy and that after the events of book one the dynamic has changed while the threat is even present There is a great threat hanging over the whole story and when people started dropping I knew things were getting serious I enjoyed watching Kaja adapt and grow into her new life to watch how she handled everything that was thrown at her once again and making new friends I loved seeing into the lives of the Mythborn witnessing their culture and ways first hand while Kaja does her best to find where she belongs There are a lot of new interesting characters introduced and I can t wait to see them again in book 3 One thing that Myth Touched did and many series fail at is that it wasn t just the same story as book 1 repeated in a different way It was a great continuation to the story while being unique in the journey Kaja takes Joanna Maciejewska Joanna might be a bit too cautious to do anything even remotely daring or dangerous herself so she writes about daring adventures and dangerous magic instead Yet she found enough courage to abandon her life in Poland and move to Ireland and then some years later she abandoned her life in Ireland to move over to the US She s determined to settle there once she finally chooses which state to reside in. Myth-Touched fantasypros That said Joanna really captures the sense of dislocation and tension as Kaja spends her days in the mythborn stronghold amongst her former enemies I liked the progression of this character in the first book she was apt to go her on own way However stranded in the castle and surrounded by beings who openly despise her for having been magically altered we see Kaja gradually transform into someone far cagier and less reckless The romantic element is well handled throughout I really liked the fact that despite the growing attraction Kaja opts to take things very very slowly. Myth-Touched book Feeling betrayed as the life she s living isn t the one she d thought was on offer Kaja is keen to join the elite team the Sc thanna even though some of the members don t particularly like her I was waiting for the dramatic showdown where there is a horrible quarrel wringing the maximum amount of angst from a tricky somewhat soul sapping situation But Joanna doesn t go there Instead Kaja has to reveal her worth by degrees in training sessions and by spending time alongside the rest of the team who gradually let her in.
