That summer's sweet book It is a sweet romance that builds characters for most of the story The reader really gets to know the characters and their motivations But there is not a lot of romance There is a lot of relationship drama and resolution however. Summer sweet potato salad I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Summer s Sweet Spot Love in Brighton Village Book 3 This story has two plot lines that it follows not a realistic look at the relationships between mothers and daughters This accounts for part of the reason I wasn t a huge fan as my relationship with both of my mothers 1 bio 1 adopted is strange to say the least Also Mauve s relationship with Patrick is far too familiar to that of my ex For the actual book I wasn t a fan of how many side characters there were when only a few stood out Dani and Natalie in particular and I kept mixing up 3 of the characters that were of the same family I did love the setting though I grew up in NH and this brought up a lot of nostalgia The mother daughter relationship between the two MCs and the ways we can misunderstand or misinterpret another s actions here are very well written Overall there were enlightening aspects to this but was slightly uncomfortable to read as it was hitting a little too close to home for me. Summer's sweet spot contemporary song I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Summer s Sweet Spot Love in Brighton Village Book 3 This was such a sweet story swapping POVs between the FMC Maeve and her mother Grace We get to see how both mothers struggle and change with how they raise d their children and their different approaches at wanting the best for them all the while trying to do better for themselves and grow as people The representation of characters having learning disorders and anxiety is so rare and was very welcomed in this book as well as seeing the passion every character has for the things and people they care about I felt that the romance between Mave and the MMC was a little under developed and a bit rushed when it did finally happen but it was so cute that I can forgive it. Suspense Summer's Sweet spot I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Summer s Sweet Spot Love in Brighton Village Book 3 Maeve owns a bakery that is doing well unfortunately her daughter has been diagnosed with a problem that needs therapy to help her deal with it and therapy means money On top of that her daughter s father is back in town for one of his rare appearances and she s trying to get him to play a active role in his daughter s life And then the donut food truck pulls in front of her bakery and sets up shop taking away some her business With bills piling up she decides that she has to enter a baking contest that has a prize that could really help her out Although this is supposed to be a romance it s like a love hate story between mother and daughter with points of view from Maeve s side and her mother s side There is a romance a very sweet romance with the food truck owner I really enjoyed this book though there were times I was annoyed with both Maeve and her mother. Summer's Sweet spotbot pet Kurtz does a wonderful job narrating the single mom aspect and how disappointing it can be from a child s standpoint She navigates a strain between mother and daughter with an ultimately happy ending.
