I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review English In this story we meet lots of characters but the main two are Jared Paterson and Lily May Delaney They had met at Jared s older brother Nate s wedding to Lily May s aunt Stella in Las Vegas They hit it off right away and spent the weekend dancing talking and kissing Jared was crushed when he did not hear from Lily May after they had left Vegas two years ago. Jared has an identical twin Gareth both had finished their Veterinary Internships and opened their own practice about a year ago Gareth was not learning to fly a helicopter so when they built their dream Vet Hospital on the farm Then they could offer mobile vet service to the ranches all over the entire Texas Pan Handle Stella called Jared and asked him to pick up her older sister Maggie Lily May s mother at the airport and have her stay overnight at his apartment This should be a real test of his patience as Maggie was very high maintenance and would complain all night unlike her daughter But I guess you cannot win them all Jared went to pick her up and the first person he saw was Lily May what a surprise On the way back to the apartment they talked and tried to avoid Maggie s complaints In the two years apart Lily May had decided to just be called Lily and shorten her name Maggie was in Gareth s room so Jared quickly changed the sheets so Lily could have his bed They had a chance to talk Lily told him the story of why they had come to Texas from South Carolina I guess they had just learned that her dad was dealing with the drug cartel and had been for years At Lily s graduation party from college where she got her business management degree her dad s drug boss insisted that she come work for him At this point that was enough for Maggie and she fled her husband while he was on a business trip He always had been a bully and this is all she could take He was NOT going to ruin their daughter with his drug cartel friends and take her into his illegal world of laundering drug money Her mother loved her life of luxury and the material wealth but she has no idea about it Jared is still in love with Lily May and he would do anything to keep her safe. This was an enjoyable story where a mistake could have cost them their love Lucky for them she thought she had seen him involved in I wondered why the hero of the story continued to put up with her vacillating ways I hope the next novel in the series is logical and interesting than this book English Jared has never gotten over Lilly May Their relationship is fraught with danger misunderstandings and Maggie s demands.
