And you get a fabulous romance that finds its way to a happily ever after I especially loved some of the side characters and I can t wait to see whose story comes next in the series 1962739074 The Bruiser Dan is an ex hockey player with a heart of gold Bethany is a struggling college student that just wants to graduate The tragedy of losing his girlfriend changed his outlook on life He is protective to the point that he can be possessive at times Bethany wants to be loved and doesn t think she deserves it They happen to meet and fall for each other Dan falls fast and she is scared of getting hurt This a sports romance novel written by Becky Kapjon The storyline is classic romance and the characters have flaws that the reader can fall in love with as the main characters fall for each other I haven t had the chance to check out her other works to compare her writing style against this one There are a couple of things that I had a hard time with in this particular book I do like the third person POV but the characters seemed to be all over the place It was hard to tell who was talking at times The second is the push pull of the two main characters.

The bruisers merch I think this was a great effort for Becky Kapjon s debut novel It has all the basic elements of a great romance novel but needs some polish I thought Bethany could have been a bit less bite your head off kind of mad at Dan when he didn t immediately open up to her I think over time as Ms Kapjon hones her craft she has the potential to write a great story.
