The Ambassador's wifemistress
Beautiful story Roberta Gately vivid description of Thailand and its culture immerses you in a voyage of love mystery and murder The slow approach to its inner mystery culminating into the apotheosis of the novel will keep you riveted page after page Read it in one seating Highly recommended 304 I received this book for free from Bloodhound Books. The Ambassador's wifem I would definitely read by this author 304 I really enjoyed this book To begin with I was a bit unsure but the main character Nora soon became someone I cared about and I wanted her to enjoy life and get the answers she needed The end of the book left some loose ends sequel I hope so 304 My favorite from Roberta Gately thus far All her books are great but The Ambassador s wife had me from the start What a ride this was I adored the main character Nora She was so relatable Mysterious and intriguingI couldn t wait to dive in every day until I knew the outcome This one demands a sequel hope you are reading this Roberta Nora and John s story cannot end in Bangkok 304 Good read It s a slow burn but when it gets going it goes at 100mph 304 I very much enjoyed this book Gately does a fantastic job of building the story and captivating the reader s attention The steady buildup and lush details had me reading late into the night to finish the book despite the knowledge that my schedule for tomorrow wasn t getting any less packed My only quibble would be that the resolution seemed to come too easy to Nora She had been tenacious in figuring out the answers to her questions unwilling to let sleeping dogs lie but at the end of the book she seems to just accept what is said at face value Many of the plot points and friction between characters didn t seem to be answered or explained but maybe the author is setting up for a sequel If so I will be first in line to read it I would recommend this book without hesitation the only reason for removing a star is because there were many plot points that seemed to be building to something never ended up being resolved or even addressed 304 When quiet invisible legal assistant Nora Buckbee falls in love with State Department employee John Fielding little does she know what s in store John becomes US Ambassador to Thailand and Nora expects a busy life as Ambassador s wife However she s asked to keep a low profile and avoid publicity Bored Nora befriends local aid workers and visits a refugee camp setting up play activities for the children She falls for one little girl and is distraught to discover her living conditions on a local rubbish dump Discovering over time that all is not as it seems Nora does not know who to trust Quite the roller coaster this is a great read WIth a day off sick I managed it in one sitting bloodhoundbooks theambassadorswife 304 A slow burner but that s not being negative as the suspense builds with every page and it s each character has the ability to be something different from how they appear initially The writing is so descriptive that I felt in parts that I was there watching the story and characters especially on the car journeys to the camp I love when I find new authors and if her other books are anything like this then I have a lot to look forward to 304 When Nora meets John he works in DC at the State Department and she works in Boston after a very fast romance of 7 months they got married he gets a promotion and suddenly she finds herself as the US ambassador s wife to Thailand What she thinks is an idyllic post turns into something sinister when she learns of the disappearance of the previous ambassador s wife and the locked up room in the ambassador s house What really happened to the previous wife Nobody is who it portrays to be and no one is above suspicion not even her dear John who goes on mysterious trips that none of the other ambassador take. The ambassador's wife book With lots of twists and turns unexpected situations and a plot that builds up within each page this book grabs your attention from beginning to end 304 I read and reviewed this book on behalf of Bloodhound books. Ambassador wife charged Nora is soon looking for something to get involved in with John busy with state work Nora gets involved with a refugee camp in Ban and soon her life starts unraveling Stories of the previous ambassador wife emerge and a locked room in the house gets Nora s curiosity sparked. The Ambassador's wifem Does John who seems to travel away a lot really work for the state Why does everyone clam up Nora starts asking about Emily the previous ambassador s wife This book enthralls you from the start and you re hooked to the end 304
