5 kept debating round up or down Review to follow English This book I wrote is pretty good I could really relate to the things that I wrote down here English If you re looking for a creepy reality questioning story give this novella a try It certainly delivered for me English When the end is so present there s no time for excess This scifi horror novella was full of action and monstrous entities I loved that the setting was one of my favourite places Vancouver Island I really liked the concept of a cosmic plague of creatures encroaching on the campers The characters worked well together despite the brief time the reader spends with them I could see this expanding into a full length story or even a serialization English A prequel to the Matrix It was a well written dystopian fantasy short story about a group of young friends that were away on a camping trip for the weekend One of the friends is not enjoying the well deserved R R as much because he s seeing things differently than his friends A couple of twists and turns gives them all a different perspective English P. Science fiction books or shows T Phronk s Are You Seeing This is an excellent horror novellette taking the familiar trope of a group of friends hiking in the woods done to death in found footage movies into entirely new directions It starts small but slowly blows up into large scale insanity Beginning as a mystery the main character sees things noone else sees it touches on the way some romantic issues and also poses some really interesting neuroscientific questions In fact there s an amazing and very layman friendly mini discussion almost out of nowhere of how the brain might be filling the gaps in perception this is necessary to understand the unexpected twist in the middle of the story Then the narrative grows into a creature feature with some nods to Lovecraft a little before the finish line it turns into cosmic horror and WOW it ends with a post apocalyptic end of the world take on human survival in the future It s a brilliant super bold move from an author that seemed to be offering just another cabin the woods tale I m impressed English A group of friends are hiking in the woods They re being hunted by something Only one of them can see it while the others think he s going mad But soon they re running for their lives having to teach themselves to see the creatures coming for them This was a story that showed the start of a sort of apocalypse and it was an interesting concept Nothing is scarier than the world ending when you don t know why and when you can t see the threat I wasn t too sure what I was in for when reading this but I wasn t expecting it to become an apocalyptic story I d assumed it would be of a cabin in the woods kind of story It was a tense and atmospheric read and while it was enjoyable it isn t something I would normally have gone out of my way to read English
