Chandra s Review I truly enjoyed reading this book it was intriguing mysterious loving and full of action I would definitely recommend this book to read Doug Police and Fire Operation Alpha Downeast SWAT 4 Doug works under Talia and had dated her sister Pixie a couple of times then just dropped her with no explanation. Doughnut backpack We finally get to see inside the guy who was always unpredictable and a thorn in Talias side This book pulls at all your heartstrings and leaves you speechless at times Makes you laugh and cry always wanting to find a happily ever after for him and Pixie Most of all wanting him to find peace. Doug kindle unlimited I wish I could give this book 10 or stars Doug Doug Police and Fire Operation Alpha Downeast SWAT 4 Doug and Pixie have an epic HEA We all met Doug in book 1 of Downeaster SWAT He was the character everyone loved to hate Surly serious issues with women not the best team player Then he met Pixie While the last book Kyle s story was a fun romp with the DoJ iykyk this one will rip your heart out We learn the backstory of these 2 incredibly strong characters There are a ton of triggers in this story so please be aware But it is probably the most beautiful heartbreaking inspiring story I have read LJ gets better and better with every book and I can t wait to see where she goes next with Downeaster SWAT I cannot recommend this book enough 15 10 recommend Doug Police and Fire Operation Alpha Downeast SWAT 4 LJ Vickery tackles a tough subject in Doug child abuse emotional mental and physical She delves into how educators police personnel mental health professionals and social workers must walk a fine line and ensure that all the I s are dotted and the T s crossed correctly in order to have the best possible outcome for the victim The ramifications of how said abuse affect adult lives are also explored It is extraordinarily well thought out and written Kudos to Ms Vickery for that Both Doug and Pixie have trust issues as a result of traumatic events in their lives He slowly but surely opens up about his past to not only Pixie but to his bosses and teammates In doing so he gains acceptance and becomes a real team player She too opens up about her experience and although Doug knows some of it invasive ghosts that have held dominion over his life for far too long They ve stunted his growth for years almost costing him his job on the SWAT team any number of times But he s rolled with those punches because well he always has his Orono PD career to fall back on And he knows that exorcising his demons will take a huge amount of effort and he s never been motivated to try But now the impetus is suddenly right in front of him in the form of an angelic fairy like sprite who makes him think about He s never wanted normal so badly before in his entire life Pixie has been burnt but she s managed to cobble along at least outwardly looking like she has her life in order She s a teacher She has a best friend She adores her family But she longs for the one thing that s always been missing A love she can call her own It shouldn t be so hard but Pixie has a difficult time trusting men due to the horrific incident that changed her both inside and out when she was young Can the handsome troubled officer in blue be the one who finally ends her long self imposed isolation from the opposite sex It s possible because she not only trusts him an anomaly in itself but he makes her feel alive than she has in years Now if she can just convince him to take a chance Doug Police and Fire Operation Alpha Downeast SWAT 4.
