The butterflies or Aleks meeting his parents which hit me harder than I expected however the succession plotline just didn t engage me in the same way the scourge sorcery plotline had in book one and two Lothar was a solid villain and I loved his reveal at the end but I really wanted to know about the godlen by this point however it wasn t really developed much than in the earlier books The honeymoon phase also seemed to be over with the romance taking a complete back seat I appreciate they are saving the world which doesn t leave a lot of time for affection but the love between the characters aided in their development and never felt like token spice in this series.
