The Disney version of The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie I was in third grade when the animated one came out and loved that movie Morgan Dawson captured the essence of that movie in this lovely little tale I even may have been picturing Eric and his dog with Edward and Wolf Marilla truly does become part of Edward s world This was hands down my favorite of the four tales The reason I gave it only four stars is because I would have liked the characterizations and emotions to go a little deeper Still a lovely tale and enjoyable read Definitely recommend it Marilla An Oregon Ever After Fairytale Retelling This was another cute book in this fairy tale retelling along the Oregon Trail I wondered through most of this book and the previous one when this occurred related to the first 2 books I was glad they closed that loop at the end of the book Marilla An Oregon Ever After Fairytale Retelling nice readThis was a very nice read It is written by Morgan Dawson and written very well It is a retake on a fairytale we all have loved over the years It is an enjoyable read Marilla An Oregon Ever After Fairytale Retelling A WATER FAIRYI am a huge fan of Ms Morgan Dawson and wasn t disappointed with this new book in a new series In this story.

Instead of a mermaid it is a woman Marilla who feels at home in or near the water even along the Oregon Trail You look like a fairy out there A water fairy perhaps Edward FisherMarilla Shellton is the youngest of seven daughters Her father is a wealthy man traveling with three wagons his children and servants His daughters are pampered wear fine dresses and are expected to do as he says But his youngest daughter views things differently and in many ways is like her late mother Edward Fisher and his Uncle Gilbert sold the family farm and with all their worldly goods they traveled to Oregon on a wagon train for a new home They plan on purchasing land building a home and enjoying this new opportunity. Marillac hills The story s plot is a touch of the Little Mermaid and even has someone who plays the role of a sympathetic ear with nefarious plans Edward nearly loses his life when a crate falls from the wagon hitting him in the head during one of the water crossings Marilla sees him in the water and when she can t get any help goes in after him getting him to safety and under the care of a doctor Her father is angry she shouldn t do things like that and he isn t even polite when Edward comes to their campsite to offer his thanks When someone her father trusts comes up with a plan for Edward and Marilla to have time together she accepts without considering the consequences What happens when the truth is revealed Has Marilla ruined her chances with Edward The story has the good the bad and the ugly of people Not everyone who calls themselves friends is true Making bargains comes with a price and not everyone will be happy I liked the characters and their interactions And in the end we do get the coveted happily ever after ending She felt like she d grown into her true self She d made mistakes and learned from them She d lied and realized the importance of truth And most of all she d learned what love was and had found it with Edward Marilla An Oregon Ever After Fairytale Retelling
