The last thing Carlton Coleman The Duke of Richmond expected to find in his Gentleman s Club was a woman fighting with his bouncers Lady Catherine sister of the Earl of Landon all people should know better than to be here When she runs into him he is shocked by first her height then her beauty and finally how upset she is She is frantically searching for her brother claiming he has been taken in by a wicked woman who works there The wicked woman in question is none other than his sweet young ward Serafina Now the plot thickens when he finds out they are running off to Gretna green to wed Not on his watch he offers his carriage and goes with Catherine to find them She doesn t want anything to do with the pompous arrogant large duke Oh but he is tall and strong very handsome too Neither are looking forward to a four day ride with the other He is sure the spitfire feisty lady will make the trip unbearable She has just realized she didn t think chasing after Edward through and now she risks being found in a compromising place with the duke Oh what advantages await our couple Highway man a lost injured puppy Riggs and all the things each find out about the other A Hugh mistake make the story perfect This is a short story but has a lot going on I don t know how or where but I have read this story before maybe in a collection It was fun to reread and now review it If you re looking for a fun read with great characters and an adorable puppy this is the book for you I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it Anna St Claire This novella is an excellent follow up to The Trouble with Her Duke It picks up exactly where the book leaves off Even so this story works fine on its own Carlton and Catherine are headed north to Gretna Green to hopefully circumvent the elopement of Carlton s ward and Catherine s brother The long harsh journey has the uneasy allies trapped together in a carriage for DAYS The two of them encounter every possible delay Last but not least they must pose as husband and wife when an inn has only one room available. Boxing with my dukeplugs This was a fun romp and I enjoyed reading it At one point I realized that I had read this once before in the anthology All I want for Christmas is a Wayward Duke I also remembered that another character The Duke of Douglas is featured in this novella He seems like a real handful and I m looking forward to reading his story at some point I received a free ARC from the author and this is my honest review Anna St Claire Multiple authors have come together to write this series I ve not read any of the others and I don t think it really matters this book stands on its own without reading previous books. Book boxing with my duke and prince I did enjoy this story It was nice to see Damon again see his story in The Trouble with Her Duke and to know that his children are doing well under Lydia s care and guidance He wasn t there long but I like it when characters from other books make appearances in my current read But there are other secondary characters that added a punch to this story and put a smile on my face.
