The Wrong hookupu center This is a must read book and series The Wrong Hookup This book starts out with a bang literally Book one in this duet is a sensual slow burn between characters that have been building a friendship for a while This book is the complete opposite Toby is fed up with being single and not getting any action so get gets on an app designed for hookups and makes a date with a man for an early morning romp after his son leaves for school This is out of character for Toby which is why this situation is hilarious Completely unrelated to this his check engine light has come on and his best friend Penny from book one arranges for her mechanic friend to stop by and take a look When Toby s doorbell rings for his date he answers the door and asks the man if he s Chris to which the man says yes Cue the extra spicy on page smutty smut When they are finally done Chris asks Toby to open the garage for him and Toby is very confuseduntil he realizes the mechanic is named Christian and his date cancelled at the last minute I found the awkward moments immediately after so funny I love the way this author infuses all of her books with silly humor Toby is mortified but Christian had a great time it was completely consensual Casiddie s characters ALWAYS have safe words set up The story progresses with these two hot single dads awkwardly getting to know each other and realizing that they are both friends with Penny and Stella from the first book Like every book from this author it has a fantastic romance plot with passion on page spice drama emotion so many feelings packed into such a little book I highly recommend this book to fans of spicy MM romance with humor and drama I love this author s work The Wrong Hookup Not sure if I can finish this book The actions and thoughts of characters are added on to other people s dialogue I genuinely cannot tell who is talking On top of that the dialogue itself is painfully cringe and so unnatural There s even a tense change in a sentence that makes absolutely no sense Also that s not what notches means. The Wrong hookupu This desperately needed beta readers and an editor There are ZERO trigger warnings and yet the book starts out with Toby sexually assaulting Christian not even giving him the chance to consent or not And surprise he s not the hook up he just happens to have a name like Chris It s dubcon at best And there is no warning And after the mistaken identity SA Toby doesn t apologize or anything Just tee hee let me open the garage without a word making this incredibly uncomfortable What responsible parent keeps lube and condoms in a random drawer in the living room The sex scenes were rushed and felt like they were written by someone who genuinely didn t want to be writing them but felt obligated. The Wrong hookupu center Mechanics don t do house calls for check engine lights unless they re your friend doing you a favor DNF in chapter 2 I came here for sweet romance and instead I just got mad The Wrong Hookup This was so dang good It was exactly what I needed it to be Angsty cute romantic The spice was spicy The comedy was funny Toby and Christian are absolutely one of my favorite pairings I need several sequels immediately The Wrong Hookup The spice in this book was top notch The lower score is because the hero Toby came off as a blushing juvenile idiot At least outside the bedroom His constant immature and inane thoughts was so annoying Mainly because this book had the potential to be so much better Things that were supposed to be cute came off corny and cheesy The Wrong Hookup
