Enid public library enid ok With the closing of the local fort Enid braves the wilderness on the Oregon Trail not realizing love is right around the corner A delightful Oregon Trail historical romance that ll sweep you away Enid is a historical romance with immersive narration a rugged setting and characters in need of each other With a blind hero and an independent woman working together to make it west across the Oregon Trail I was transported to another era where faith and hard work go hand in hand Let s talk about the characters I connected with both Enid and Simon Their plights are easy to relate to and my heart went out to them What impresses me the most about these characters is their perseverance Life is hard during this era How this couple deals with a stark frontier and strife inspires me The descriptive narration is impressive Like many historical romance authors Nancy Fraser plunges the reader into the time period The narration is emotional and emotive The reader feels everything and can picture the scene clearly There were times when I didn t want to close the book because I was enjoying myself too much while reading. Enid Historical fiction books My Rating 5 starsReviewed by NancyThis review first appeared Romance Historical Fiction Science Fiction EVERYONE DESERVES A HAPPILY EVER AFTER At Fort Bridger they will learn that the military post will be closed and moved to a new location For many of the townsfolk this means a change of some form For the Hughes family they must decide if they wish to relocate their mercantile or close shop and move back East This has been a stopping point for wagon trains traveling West along the Oregon trail to stock up Clarence and his wife Ophelia decide not to move to the new location but Enid doesn t want to go back East she wants to go West With one of the last wagon trains coming in she will see if they will allow her to join them but it will come under a unique circumstance One of the largest wagons is Mr Simon Grainger and his escort Mister Henderson decides not to continue to Oregon as his escort Because Simon is blind he must have help and Enid is offered the position I found the story delightful and the cast of characters unique The friendship that develops between Simon and Enid is steadfast Enid doesn t see Simon as disabled and he appreciates her insight to sharing what they encounter along the journey Enid is a strong formidable woman with skills that works well for Simon and others along the journey Simon was trained by his grandfather Schmidt as a master clockmaker and that is also what his Uncle Gustave had done in Oregon What will happen when they arrive at his destination in Grants Pass Oregon Will Enid be accepted at one of the teaching schools in Eugene Oregon What a beautiful and inspirational tale of placing faith in the Lord The story will bring two strangers to meet learn to trust one another and find happiness in their future I think that working together along the trail learning to trust one another their daily communications and that they both had a Christian faith has them falling in love with one other without really realizing it at first In the end being together and working in the Clock shop is just where these two need to be as husband and wife Romance Historical Fiction Science Fiction great book This was a great book and what a fantastic author I highly recommend this book and author I can t wait to read the next book by this wonderful author Romance Historical Fiction Science Fiction
