Etc These errors occur all throughout the book The language is that of a modern day novel and not at all on target for a regency novel Phrases such as It s no big deal You know if that s okay with you Sure and you should be doing that stuff for her anyway are prevalent and completely out of the historical era There are also numerous grammatical errors throughout the book that cause the reader to have to pause to decipher the intent of the sentence This is my first book by this author and there is some potential here The historical accuracy wasn t on point and that distracted from the story I hope she ll continue writing and researching the time period.
Touching storyBoth of the characters were sweet and kind and you just wanted both of them to find each other Thoroughly enjoyed it English lovelyThis was an absolutely wonderful book Held my interest through the entire book You will be glad you chose to read it like I was English This had some good elements meeting impossible standards rising above cruelty etc However it is not a regency novel There are numerous choices the writer made about this period that aren t accurate i. very inconsistent titling after the wedding she shouldn t be sporadically addressed as Lady Sophia once she becomes Her Grace the Duchess and that happens repeatedly Duncan addresses Lady Barbara as Barbara yet professes not to be close to her Sophia chooses a lavender color for her wedding dress but that represents half mourning colors the term police is used instead of magistrate or Bow Street Runner ladies room is used instead or retiring room developing flow and let the story develop before moving on to the next scene A good review team would make a world of difference in this novel English Well written novel with great editing and character development In a time period and culture where appearance was everything a CHILD who experienced such a tragedy and sustained scars was considered cursed Cruel It was fortunate for both main characters that they met and married She was spared a isolated future and he was spared life with a malicious shrew I was so glad that they did not allow the OW wanna be to escape being legally held responsible for her crimes as is the case in many Victorian romances She was not remorseful only angry at getting caught. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline the main characters and the secondary characters added depth and feeling to the story Well done English The heroine has scars and believes she is cursed Bing bullied by other ladies doesn t help and that is when the hero enters the picture They are found alone in the garden so they must marry The story seems to revolve a lot around trying to convince the heroine that she is not cursed She almost spends time with the hero s brother than she does with the hero This heroine was a little bit harder to get to like even though I am a sucker for scarred characters English Haunted DuchessThis is a very good read Sophia will find herself in a situation where she will need to marry and Duncan will make her his success since he is the one responsible for inadvertently ruining Sophia s reputation Sophia and Duncan both have past that haunt them and they will become closer because of there past But someone in the ton is not happy with the union and will do anything to harm it English Grief scandal a forced marriage and are the points of the plot in this regency romance I enjoyed this tale and how darkness leads to light for Sophia and Duncan This is a great page turning book and I was glad to read it English
