Aventurine on the Border (An Aventurine Morrow Thriller) By Anne Britting Oleson
I would like to begin by stating that I was given an advanced reader s copy of the ebook to allow me to write this review however I don t want that to sway the depth of my appreciation for Anne Britting Oleson and for the stories she tells Either way I would write this review and I will be buying this book to add to my Anne Britting Oleson shelf. Once again Oleson delivers an engaging and emotional experience Aventurine on the Border continues the series of Aventurine and her intrigues Because of the raw emotion inscribed on the pages along with the concise and enthralling manner of Oleson s writing the reader is taken along for the ride as the family reasons grieves and hopes among the remains that are left behind by the disappearances of loved ones New characters brighten the world as they always do with Oleson and we connect with old characters as does Aventurine If you ve read the first two books which I surely hope you have since you are here you will not be disappointed by this continuation that will leave you wanting 9781645995227 Well if I wasn t depressed when I started this book I sure was by the time I finished This was a rough one Aventurine is abandoned there s no other word for it by everyone in her life as she continues the search to determine what happened to her brother in law And then as icing on the cake someone is trying to kill her It s enough to make a person take up drinking While this book is intellectual it is still engaging and engrossing I hope Ms Oleson doesn t take too long to release the next book because she left me hanging with that ending and I m not a patient person when it comes to my stories Hopefully she ll write fast If you haven t read the Aventurine series I highly recommend it Just be sure you read them in order or you will be lost. I received a review copy from the author via BookSirens and this review is my honest opinion 9781645995227 Wow What a great book I highly recommend reading this series in order Reading this 3rd book of Aventurine Morrow thrillers you get a better understanding of the complexity of all the characters and the relationships with each other Anne brilliantly gives us a lot of answers through a complex plot and captivating twists in this beautiful Welsh and English setting but leaves us with much unanswered questions wanting of Aventurine Morrow and wondering where she is taking us next 9781645995227 The goal of this review is to be completely honest Starting with the positives the author is great at writing dialogue and descriptive paragraphs about the surrounding environment She doesn t like some authors simply tell you a piece of information but can bring it out with words and actions by the characters The ambiance of the setting is intriguing and even the plot of finding and following clues found in books is interesting and mysterious. However with that being said this book was a total disappointment It almost seems like the author wrote one long book and then just haphazardly chopped it up into 3 or 4 books There was absolutely no resolution of any of the puzzles the missing people or further character development of the half sister and what her motivations are I understand cliff hangers and they have their place but you can t expect someone to read a book and have no ending whatsoever Unless I m missing a couple of chapters I was severely disappointed and felt like I wasted my time reading it. These books would be amazing if the author a could recap the previous books adventures the people a little about their characters and why they are facing the situations in the current book b resolve at least some of the mysteries that are presented in each book and c not spend the first 25% of book 3 explaining dull happenings that have no real bearing on the rest of the book the clues the riddles the mysteries and if you must spend that 25% on such things wrap up the last books and remind the reader about the past I would love to have given this 5 stars because I think the author is good at what she does creating atmosphere appropriate dialogue and interesting mysteries but it has to be 3 stars for the lack of sufficient background and the utter lack of any sort of conclusion or satisfaction. I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily 9781645995227 I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is the third book in the Aventurine Morrow series I really enjoyed the previous two books and this one was very good too I like the locations that the author uses because they re familiar Avi has a strong personality and is quite impulsive but that s what I like about her This was a page turner but I think in this case the book wouldn t have made sense to me if I hadn t read the previous two books I d definitely recommend this series though. Thank you to Booksirens and the author for a free copy to review 9781645995227
