The Girls on Floor 13 (Detective Maria Miller #3) By Helen Phifer

Excellent just excellent English would like to thank netgalley and the publishers for letting me read this awesome bookoh man this was scary going into hotels is never going to be the same again. when two teenage girls are found murdered with their feet missing it became a case for maria and her partner who were affectionally known as mulder and scully for all the strange cases they were onand this one was a doozywith reports of anyone seeing the woman in blue and then them turning up dead didnt bode well for maria as she saw her and the next thing she knew she had the worst nightmare in her life and was then stabbed. oh my word this book just dont read it at night before bed because you wont sleep after reading the ghostly goings on but it was also sad at the end to make me cry at one of the outcomesbut hopefully there will be another book in this brilliant serie English The third and possibly last in this enjoyable.

It s still worth your time as you will read it in no time at all Many thanks to the publisher for the ARC through Netgalley English I m not really into paranormal or ghostly as really I don t believe in it. I love the main characters Detective Maire Miller and frankie investigates murders of two teenagers in the haunted Hotel where a woman in blue haunts the place and whoever looks upon her is certain of death. 5 stars rounded up Helen Phifer s Detective Maria Miller books are all super solid.

Frankie take on a paranormal case at a hotel which had an identical double murder which occurred decades earlier I enjoy the paranormal aspect in this series and how Marie and Frankie are called in to investigate the cases which are supernatural in nature The thirteenth floor of a rundown New York City hotel room is no stranger to chilling events happening Is the hotel haunted Is the thirteenth floor haunted What or who is responsible for the deaths of the two teenage girls How is this case connected to the past case That is what Marie and Franke and myself set out to solve in The Girls on Floor 13 Having to solve a current case which is identical to a past case is reminiscent of the first book in the series.

Well written and atmospheric 3. com English I Wanna thank NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review this one was an interesting one The plot kept me hooked but at times I did get bored. it was an ok read English

There s always a bit of a risk with reading a book in a series without having read anything else but I don t think that unduly affected my experience here I may have known a little about the detective duo and their relationship but enough is revealed to help piece things together. The story begins in rather macabre fashion A fire is discovered in a hotel that is renowned for unusual events taking place there As this is dealt with there is then the discovery of the bodies of two teenage girls whose feet have been removed. Our detectives are called in to the scene though it seems they re acting out of their jurisdiction and soon learn that the hotel has a chequered history Known for numerous suicides and gruesome deaths there s also rumours of a woman in blue haunting the area and if her body is seen someone will die. Before we know it there s strange dream attacks and exorcisms It became hard to tell what was happening in what time frame and exactly how things were unfolding As long as you don t like things neatly tied up this might be the kind of story you ll enjoy. First let me thank NetGalley the publisher Storm Publishing and of course the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review All opinions are my own. Series Background Warning May contain spoilers from previous books Detective Maria Miller lives in Greenwich Village in an old apartment building She occasionally dates super rich Harrison Williams who wants out of the relationship than does Maria Her police partner and best friend is Frankie Conroy and he too would like to further their relationship Due to a case they solved which involved the supernatural Frankie and Maria now head a new department looking into unusual and strange crimes Her elderly neighbours Missy Emilia have become friends and are quite keen on the supernatural aspects of Maria s cases. My Synopsis No major reveals but if concerned skip to My Opinions Teenager Dory Painter is hooked on ghosts and convinces her best friend Michelle Carter to skip school and take the train to New York She found someone who will let them into the 13th floor of the Parker Hotel which is supposed to be one of the most haunted hotels in New York. Maria and Frankie are sure the girls were lured there and it had to be someone in the hotel Rickie the hotel manager shows them an old newspaper article about an identical double murder from 40 years before Do they have a copycat Or is there to this hotel than can be explained My Opinions I couldn t wait to start the third book in this series I absolutely love Maria and Frankie is a hoot These characters are wonderful and the side characters are just as interesting Missy Emilia in particular. For a complete review of this book and others including the reason I chose to read review this book author information and a favorite quotation or two from the book please visit my blog English This is a great crime thriller with a supernatural twist Detective Maria Miller and her partner Frankie are called to a hotel where two teenagers have been found dead Maria gets a bad feeling about the place and when she sees a ghostly figure she knows it s a case they need to investigate There s a dark energy at the hotel and soon Maria is having nightmares and becomes very ill Father Anthony is able to help her so she asks for his help to rid the hotel of the evil energy Things don t quite go to plan and it s clear that whatever is causing the deaths isn t done yet This is a great read Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book English Goosebumps Addictive shocking twists detectives Maria Miller and Frankie Conroy in book three in this series and Oh My God it s the best yet. Two teenagers Dory Painter and Michelle Carter are found in twin beds in a haunted hotel room 1303 at the Parker ice cold with pale skin eyes that will never open again looking like they are sleeping this is a murder scene. The Girls on Floor 13 is the most gruesome crime thrillers I have read this year what a spooky story it is totally mind blowing that gives you the willys What can I say easy reading series about a Mulder and Scully type partnership investigating murders that have a supernatural element to them Here the story is based in a creepy old hotel in NYC where murder demons and ghosts are a plenty I ve enjoyed this series immensely Short easy and fun reads that don t take themselves too seriously but alas this was my least favourite of the trilogy The story itself was fun but some of the dialogue was just downright weird Characters were saying the oddest of things that didn t seem natural at all That with too many cliched lines from characters that just felt incredibly lazy Also there is a saccharine sweet overtone to this one It s not hinted at You are hit over the head with it I didn t care for it at all So enjoyable if flawed and certainly the weakest of the three page turning Paranormal Mysteries These books follow Maria Miller and her partner Frankie as they investigate cases that lack a normal scientific explanation and trust these stories get DARK. In this the 3rd installment to the series Maria and Frankie are summoned to the Parker Hotel an infamously haunted NYC hotel after the bodies of two teenage girls are found murdered in one of the rooms on the 13th floor. The girls are laid out on the twin beds as if on display It s a gruesome scene As the investigation begins the hotel manager shares some information with Maria that surprises her A newspaper article reporting on an almost identical double murder that occurred in the hotel decades earlier. In fact a lot of people have suffered a tragic end at the hotel some of the spirits reportedly still stalk the halls Is there possibly some connection to the past in this case The time they spend at the hotel the it seems to be effecting Maria It feels like something has poisoned her body It s truly a race against the clock as they try to find the murderer before they have the opportunity to strike again. I found this mystery very intriguing Phifer wastes no time diving into the main case we re going to be examining I appreciate how Phifer s not afraid to get graphic This one is definitely not for the faint of heart. I loved the inspiration I felt from IRL Haunted Hotels I know the author had a particular hotel in NYC in mind but it immediately made me think of the Cecil Hotel I mean the watertower connectionThere s def some creepy imagery in this I feel like Phifer excels in that area Let it be known this is a true Paranormal Mystery It s not one of those is it is it not cases Go into this knowing it is absolutely 100% Paranormal. As with many Adult Mystery series you can read this as a standalone I would recommend reading the other books in the series though as there is a lot of great character development for Maria and Frankie as well as some really fun side characters over the course of the three books. With this being said you could actually read this one first and then if you loved it enough go back and read the other two I would certainly have no problem with doing that. Overall this was an entertaining fast paced creepy mystery I love how Phifer pulls a historical perspective into her stories as well The back and forth and the way everything builds out is just very pleasing. Thank you to the publisher Storm Publishing for providing me with a copy to read and review I can t wait to see what comes next for these characters English An old hotel with a creepy past two dead girls sinister messages and strange visions make for another creepy and fun book in the Detective Maria Miller series by Helen Phifer I enjoyed the creepy paranormal vibe in this book As with the previous books in the series readers will see Detective Maire Miller and her partner The Haunting on West 10th Street which also had a case in the present which resembled a case in the past Readers also get to see of Marie s private life which was a nice touch as readers of the series have seen her meet and date Harrison. I enjoyed the mystery in this book as well as the many characters This is the third book in the series and I highly recommend reading The Haunting on West 10th Street and Her Lost Soul as well Can this book be read as a stand alone Perhaps but the first two books in this series are so well done that I highly recommend reading them as well. While I enjoyed this book it was not my favorite in the series that honor goes to Her Lost Soul But this was a solid installment in the series and I enjoyed the chilling haunted and creepy vibe in this book Plus the atmosphere is off the charts A creepy old hotel paired with tension and twists made for fun reading. If you enjoy books with a paranormal element paired with a police procedural this book series fits the bill Chilling creepy the girls could be sleeping except their pale skin is ice cold and their closed eyes will never open again When the bodies of two teenage girls are discovered in a rundown New York City hotel room Detective Maria Miller is called to the crime scene The best friends were supposed to be at a sleepover miles away in the suburbs With no record of the girls checking in and the room on the thirteenth floor closed off to guests what were they doing there Sinister messages on their phones suggest the girls were lured to the hotel using its reputation for hauntings as bait The killer left no DNA behind and Maria s efforts to trace their identity leads to a dead end But Maria feels certain the murderer works at the hotel How else did they access the room and know it was empty While Maria races to interview staff before another body turns up the hotel manager shares an old newspaper article about an identical double murder decades before Could the cases be linked After a key suspect is found dead in his home a discovery in the hotel room sends shivers down Maria s spine Can she uncover the secrets of the room on the thirteenth floor before she becomes its next victim Perfect for fans of Karin Slaughter Mary Stone and A J Rivers The Girls on Floor 13 will have you racing through the pages and sleeping with the lights on The Girls on Floor 13 Detective Maria Miller 3 The Girls on Floor 13 (Detective Maria Miller #3).

, I was surprised how much i enjoyed this readthis was the best one of the three books I was so engrossed. a fantastic read so engaging and will this series continuea five star read English 3. 5 starsThank you to Storm Publishing and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review All the thoughts and opinions are my own: Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this English 4, 5 starsThe Girls on Floor 13 by Helen Phifer is the third in the Maria Miller paranormal detective series, But their trip is short lived Both are killed and laid out on the beds in Room 1303 They are not the first to have died in that room, As always this book was full of horror and humourwhich is a strange combination which works well: These are just really fun supernatural books to read and I fear this run may be coming to an end but I sincerely hope not: I love this series but as I said before this is the authors best yet giving you everything that keeps your brain running like clockwork with every turns. Located in New York City there s certainly no lack of bizarre happenings for them to investigate Maria and Frankie have quickly become one of my favorite detective duos. This gets absolutely wild at the end It s so gripping It s compelling throughout but the pace and the stakes really increase the closer you get to the end: I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Paranormal Mysteries or Horror Mysteries Maria and Frankie are like the Mulder and Scully of the NYPD.I really enjoy reading her crime books .who is behind the killings something sinister or a killer.Read of my reviews at www.openbookposts. it was a little too paranormal for my taste. not really into the whole ghost story stuff
