As friends Their true personalities slowly show themselves and the reader begins to understand them while watching their friendship develop After her uncle s death Jacq and Holly travel to England to receive Jacq s inheritance and so she can continue working on her uncle s experiments as a quantum physicist She discovers her uncle had been working on quantum telepathy which allows Jacq to move through time while her body remains where it was At this point I didn t understand how Jacq could visit Sherlock as herself in one instance then leap into the mind of Dr Watson at another time Some of the things that happened relied on this reader s ability to accept without clear understanding the how s and why s With that being said.

Included in this book is the case of The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which I did not feel worthy to edit Two strong women two mysteries to solve and one life changing discovery Jacquelyn Holmes is the direct decedent of the infamous Mr Holmes No not the world renowned detective Sherlock or even the heartbeat of the British government Mycroft She is the decedent of Sherrinford Holmes the eldest brother and mad scientist who spent his days on a time machine with the single minded goal of having Sherlock unravel history s unsolved mysteries After her uncle s death Jacq leaves behind her college studies and skeptical father to travel to England to discover whether five generations of quantum physicists found anything than an ever expanding universe Locked away in a bolt hole in the Holmes estate Jacq and her sister from another mister Holly Watts discover not only had the family not wasted their time but unearthed the key to time travel With the aid of coded messages and quantum telepathy Jacq s mind leaps into Doctor Watson to take a master class on sleuthing from none other than Sherlock Holmes Will this leap back in time make her an extraordinary detective or will time travel be the catalyst for the zombie apocalypse Soundbite with Sherlock is the first book in the time traveling amateur sleuth series Holmes All Jacq d Up If you like relationships with synergy amateur sleuths with quirky personalities and not so cozy historical mysteries introducing two characters Jacqueline Holmes a direct descendant of Sherlock Holmes eldest brother Sherrinford and Holly Watts a medical student and Jacqueline s college roommate Both young ladies have baggage and are quirky in a number of ways It doesn t seem at first that they will mesh as roommates and as the book progresses I did enjoy the book The girls as I said were quirky and they were likable The complications of the girls families demonstrated Jacq and Holly had each gone through horrific experiences leaving them scarred emotionally The premise of the story being able to go back in time and be with Sherlock Holmes was a fun premise The author definitely gave thought to what Jacq would be going through during the telepathic experience and obviously researched details of the time period to make the story better detailed A reader of mysteries particularly Sherlock Holmes would probably enjoy this book English I received this book as an Early Reviewer for free in exchange for an unbiased book review I have never read a Sherlock Holmes retelling and I did enjoy this book It was a quick read that kept me interested Some of the dialogue was a little forced and in the case of the two main characters pranks and rudeness to others it was at times just too annoying Also as a nurse the paragraph about how could the flue affect your lungs was too much Ha ha However the idea of the novel was interesting and the story really captivating I look forward to the next book in the series I would have given it a solid 3. Book soundbite with sherlock woods I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my voluntary review English This enjoyable cozy esque novel combines elements of murder unusual friendships mending family relationships and time travel Jacq the primary protagonist is the several times grand niece of Sherlock Holmes Through the use of quantum physics she works with Sherlock Holmes to solve a mystery although this part of the story is told a bit from the point of view of Holly a veteran the second protagonist However in the first half of the story they are working to solve the mysterious murder of a friend s sorority sister near a U. Book soundbite with sherlock woods S college While enjoyable I found the story a bit dis jointed with the first half focusing on the mystery of the murdered sorority sister and then at about the midpoint the characters travel to England and investigate the Homes mystery At the end the story circles back to the original mystery in the States Satisfactory endings all around The book is touted as the first in a series and I look forward to subsequent installments English Don t touch anything until you ve read everythingAt first this felt really disjointed to me and I was puzzled but the deeper I got into the book each chapter turned into quirky vignettes that formed several mysteries that I found highly enjoyable The latest Sherlockian offshoot involves the college aged descendent of the original Holmes older brother and Holly Watts a wanna be doctor on their journey through time thanks to quantum physics to solve cases with the original Sherlock English
