In this second installment of the Drysau Ceudodol series Julia discovers and of her manifold outsized powers some of which push the boundaries of imagination I am not aware that a superwoman has ever been endowed with what is at the main character s disposal it may challenge the sensibilities of some readers outside of their comfort zone Howard learns of those too in ways too intimate for comfort Somewhere in the middle of Book Two the relationship reaches an absolute nadir At that point Julia realizes that she let things slide too far and needs to deal with Howard s issues in a productive way by manipulating his mood while she becomes ever integrated into this matriarchic society This culminates in Julia accepting professional responsibilities which she proves unexpectedly adept at while gaining deeper insight into how this society works with regard to the relations between the genders causing her to have split feelings about staying Her self confidence greatly strengthens as a result of the experience and if Julia as her former self came across as naive and somewhat ditzy she now seems to be set on a path to greater maturity Having digested her new reality of exorbitant power she can be focused on Howard s situation Howard too begins to soften his denial of reality under the relentless onslaught of her magnificence that had protected his ego so far and begins to face his new standing in the relationship Her efforts to patch up her strained relationship are rewarded with a break through at the end of the book when she saves Howard from a disastrous experience.
