Loving Smoke by Barbara Nolan is the first book in the Royal Bastards MC Series Tijuana MX Be prepared When you finish Loving Smoke you may feel the sudden urge to read this series in its entirety And believe me when I say there are a ton of books to read in this series I m excited for what s to come after reading Barbara Nolan s Loving Smoke I m new to the Royal Bastards MC Series and I don t usually read novels placed in the middle of a series out of order But the moment I read the synopsis for Loving Smoke by Barbara Nolan I knew I had to skip the series and dive into Smoke and Marisol s story Truth be told I m a sucker for an age gap romance Then you add the need for revenge to the table with a strong Motorcycle Club vibe and I m sold First up we have Marisol Marisol is on a mission and her main goal is to seek vengeance towards those who took her mother s life She ll do whatever it takes to see that the men who carried out this task pay in the worst way possible But what happens when dark secrets crawl out from their depths Marisol will do everything to hold the one who took her mother s life accountable I m here for the revenge plot where Marisol is concerned I loved the fierce vibes this woman threw off I also loved the protective ride or die role she naturally stepped into She definitely brought the fire to this novel And then we have the President himself Smoke Everything in Smoke s life went up in flames the day his club was arrested and he was nowhere in sight He knew shit was about to hit the fan when he walked into his clubhouse and found the Royal Bastard s National President sitting in his seat at the head of his table Being told his club has been disbanded was a shot to the heart but to make matters worse Smoke and his vice president are being sent to Tijauna Mexico to start a new charter and to find out information on the cartel What could possibly go wrong in Smoke s life Smoke is an anomaly Here is a man who exudes danger with just one glance But if you get beneath the surface you ll find a vulnerable person who fears losing the one thing he can claim as his and that s his position in the club This may just be my opinion but I loved the fact that the he became attached to Marison the stronger that vulnerability showed What can I say I have a soft spot for males who would do anything for their leading lady Also let s not forget to mention that Smoke brings the spice to this novel Although I was hoping for a little kink I still loved the sexy time moments all the same Now for the reasoning behind why I dropped a star on my rating I gave Loving Smoke by Barbara Nolan a four star rating because even though I loved the romance aspect I found the suspense leading up to the climactic point to be a bit predictable I predicted the climactic end early on in this novel When I pick up a novel that features suspense and dark vibes I want to be swept away by the mystery of it all Due to not wanting to further spoil future readers I won t go into further discussion about slimy characters and their need for control and power Overall I really enjoyed Loving Smoke by Barbara Nolan I loved the spice the heart and the danger that this story brought I have to say I m looking forward to diving into Blood s story This man is gruff and I m looking forward to him being brought to his knees and surrendering to love _________Find me here The Staircase ReaderInstagramFacebookTwitterBookbub Loving Smoke An Enemies to Lover Age Gap Dark MC Romance The Royal Bastards MC Tijuana Mexico Book 1 Watch out Tijuana I m thinking I m really going to love visiting the RBMC Tijuana chapter I can t wait to see what these characters do next Loving Smoke An Enemies to Lover Age Gap Dark MC Romance The Royal Bastards MC Tijuana Mexico Book 1 Loving Smoke is smokin hot I could not put this book down This is a thrilling ride south of the border that will keep you reading til the early morning hours A must read Loving Smoke An Enemies to Lover Age Gap Dark MC Romance The Royal Bastards MC Tijuana Mexico Book 1 If you re looking for a steamy suspense filled rollercoaster of a read Barbara Nolan s Loving Smoke is where you want to be This book hooked me from page one and didn t let go until the very end Seriously I devoured it in two days flat I just couldn t put it down From the moment Smoke and Marisol cross paths the chemistry is off the charts Nolan masterfully blends just the right amount of heat drama and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat And let s talk about that name Smoke It s sexy mysterious and totally fits his unpredictable fire starting persona. Contemporary Loving smoked salmon I m a huge fan of dual POVs and while I loved getting inside both Smoke and Marisol s heads I did find it a bit confusing at times especially when the perspective shifted mid chapter A little clarity on who s narrating would make the ride smoother Plus there were moments where the third person POV popped up unexpectedly which felt a bit jarring Cleaning that up would make an already great story even better Now let s get to the characters Smoke is hands down my favorite Watching a biker who s messed up big time try to redeem himself is as compelling as it gets There s something about a bad boy on a bike trying to get his life together that s just irresistible And yes the bike is sexy Everything about the bike is sexy Smoke was ousted for his lack of control and now has to prove himself all over again and you can t help but root for him every step of the way. Book Loving smoked salmon I am excited to follow this new book series and can not wait for books to come out Great job to the author Loving Smoke An Enemies to Lover Age Gap Dark MC Romance The Royal Bastards MC Tijuana Mexico Book 1 I Loved Loving SmokeI have to say that this author never pulls any punches because she give me steam rawness to her characters suspense thrills and so much Smoke got himself into some deep trouble with the MC so when the Prez came knocking it wasn t for good reasons and Smoke and his VP were sent to Tijuana to clean up some business with a cartel To say that they were starting at the bottom was an understatement. Book Loving smoker Smoke and Blood knew of the underhandedness of their target Rico and seemed to stay one step ahead of him but Rico was working Smoke without him realizing it at first Smoke s weakness was women so when Rico sent his daughter Marisol in to get info she was reluctant at first It was said that the RBMC were the ones that gunned down her mother. Loving Smoke booking 75 stars I was so excited when Barbara Nolan announced that she was joining the Royal Bastards MC collection I love the Royal Bastards MC books and I was not disappointed with this one. Book Loving smokey robinson For this being the first time that Barbara Nolan did a book in dual first person POV she did a great job There were some places that were still in third person POV so I used my KU to see if it was fixed and it wasn t But it will be an easy fix I would also recommend or preferred that at the beginning of Smoke or Marisol s section of view their names be added so we know who s POV we are in especially with both views being in one chapter.
