He was glad to be close He ends up meeting Kim at a festival and is instantly attracted to him He meets up with him that night and hooks up He can t seem to stop thinking about him Kim is a man who is brutally honest and has no reason to lie He has an addiction but he is doing his best to stay clean He can t help but seek Jas out He feels an attraction to him and wants to see where things can go These two guys have dealt with a lot in their life and overcome as well They battle with each other until they both finally talk it out You get to see how they come together and how they handle things The emotions you feel through the book will make you feel part of their story It s that strong. Junkyard Heart ebook3000 I loved this book and couldn t stop reading it I love how the author just gets you hooked into the story Such an amazing story I will now have to read the others in this series This will be on my favorite list along with the Rebel Kings books I received an ARC through GRR Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review Garrett Leigh I can always count on Garrett Leigh s books to take me away from everyday things and Junkyard Heart did that I m not sure why.

At a festival Things get hot and heavy real fast but then they decide to take a step back. Junkyard Heart epublishing I truly enjoyed reading this book and I m at a bit of a loss to figure out why it didn t seem so angsty to me as other books I ve read by Garrett Leigh There is one scene that caused a minute or two of concern but I knew that it would turn out OK because it s a romance I enjoyed reading about Jas s job taking pictures and doing graphic work and found the descriptions easy to make a picture in my mind I also liked Kim s job of reclaiming recycling things to build unique and useful furniture I d love to see some of it in real life One of the reasons I enjoy Garrett Leigh s writing so much is that I frequently have to look up at least a couple of words that usually turn out to be British slang This time it was lekky I really should have been able to figure it out reading in context but it didn t click until I looked the word up Using an eReader makes this so easy I won t spoil it for you so if you don t know what it is look it up like I did This is the second book in the Porth Ewan Bay series but you can totally read it as a standalone Characters from the first book appear but you won t feel lost if you haven t read their story. Book Junkyard heart I always love how Garrett always writes characters who struggle with real life issues that some people face in their lives infidelity and alcoholism in this case Garrett makes her characters work for their HEAs but with the support of their found or blood families giving a lot of heart and sometimes humor to her stories I never can get enough of her books and always end up with the good feels when I finish This was another amazing read from one of my favorite authors Garrett Leigh 3. Junkyard theatre phuket I sucked in a shaky breath and dragged my thumb over his cheekbone Your heart isn t junk to me We meet the main character Kim in the first book in the series House of Cards I was excited to get my hands on his story Although this book was a bit shorter and less angsty than House of Cards it still had the soulful spice and trademark hurt comfort we ve come to associate with Garrett Leigh s writing The connection between Kim and Jas was instantaneous and electric and I loved how drawn they were to one another However it seems like the sex was the easy part of their relationship Jas is coming to terms with the aftermath of a nasty breakup and Kim is recovering from addiction Although it took them some time to figure out how to properly be together I love the strength they drew from each other as they both craved a peaceful life Lena was an interesting addition to the plot and I really wasn t sure what to expect from her I don t think this story would be able to exist without her and although the depth of her relationship with Kim is clear I wasn t expecting the connection she formed with Jas I also love the quaint setting of Porth Ewan and really never want to leave Another fantastic read by Garett Leigh How had I not dreamed of this of the tight wet heat of him clamped around me Of his blunt nails digging into my hips What the fuck had we been doing all this time when we could ve been doing this I received an ARC of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and am voluntarily leaving a review Garrett Leigh First you don t have to have read any of the Rebel Kings books to read this story I can tell you that only two people are mentioned and it s towards the end You can read this story and fall in love with them just like I did Jasper aka Jas has moved back to be with his family in Porthkennack and out of London for good After he catches his boyfriend at an event with his wife and kids that was it for Jas He realized that he was lied to for years and decided he needed to get away Being in Porth Ewan close to his dad stepmom and brothers maybe my mood but I didn t get as emotional reading this one as I have with other of her books and no real tears were shed Normally that would make me suspect that I didn t enjoy the story that much but that certainly wasn t the case with Junkyard Heart The story is told in first person from Jas POV. Junkyard hellcat Jas is recovering from a broken heart when he found out that his lover had a wife and kids Kim is a recovering alcoholic and is a talented tattooist and furniture maker They are immediately attracted to each other when they meet by accident Kim finds his HEA with a man whose life fell apart and fled London As with all of Garrett s characters both men have been kicked a little by life Kim for his part is an alcoholic in recovery and has picked up the pieces of his life times that he can remember They meet at a county fair and they have instant attraction From there Kim and Jas s love story is one of honesty about their pasts and finding peace I adored how Lena and importantly Jas s stepmother gave him the nudges he needed to be the man Kim could commit to This story shows how falling for someone is easy but being their person isn t always so simple Junkyard Heart is a super sweet and spicy hurt comfort romance that is a quick but ever so satisfying read Jas returns to Port Ewan after his life in London falls apart Resigned to life in the rainy small town near his family he never thought he would stumble into a man that makes his heart sing Kim at first glance seems easy going and wise with his life together But his demons run deep They easily become friends with benefits but what each man really wants is so much When each man faces their past and I also haven t read any of the Rebel Kings series Despite that I didn t have any difficulty following along and getting immersed in the story This book was a good read but not my favorite by the author I wasn t wild about the way that Lena was shoehorned into the story and anyone who does not like stories where exes are involved should steer clear I also felt like it took a while to hit its stride and then before I knew it we were at the end One of the things that I love the most about Garrett s stories is that they feel authentic Everyone isn t a billionaire every situation doesn t pan out perfectly and sometimes misunderstandings just happen In this story Jas and Kim fall in love through plenty of real life issues confusion and hard work The relationship between Kim and Jas starts as instalust which normally isn t my thing but it grows through plenty of signature angst and hurt comfort over the course of the book It is always nice to see how Garrett s characters work through everything Altogether I did enjoy the book just not my favorite from the author Garrett Leigh She HerBonus Material available for all books on Garretts Patreon account Includes short stories from Misfits Slide Strays What Remains Dream and much Sign up here site_link Fan Group Garretts Den site_link Leigh is an award winning British romance author and artist Her debut novel Slide won Best Bisexual Debut at the 2014 Rainbow Book Awards and she is a 4 time LAMBDA finalist. Junkyard heartflow login I m really intrigued by the biker series now though I received an ARC of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review Garrett Leigh Rating 4Steam 2PoV single 1st personGenre contemporary romance MMMain tropes hurt comfort found family small townGarrett Leigh knows how to write some beautiful and moving hurt comfort and Junkyard Heart was full of it This was a bit angsty than I anticipated Jas and Kim both had a lot of baggage and it took them quite a bit and a few bumps to admit that there were between them Neither of them really felt ready for a relationship Kim was recovering from addiction and struggling with his mental health while Jas was picking up the pieces after finding out his ex had lied to him about basically everything Their attraction was intense though and they quickly developed a deeper connection making it hard to stay away from each other I really enjoyed Jas PoV it was easy to feel for him and get wrapped up in his thoughts and feelings His passions and how much he cared for Kim came through strongly and I loved the sweet and swoony moments they had together Since it was a single PoV narrative Kim remained a bit of a mystery throughout the book and even if I felt like I got to know him well enough through Jas eyes I have to admit that I was curious about his perspective at times Junkyard Heart was a great read both beautiful and heart wrenching and I loved seeing of the little Porth Ewan Bay family As always Garrett Leigh writes fantastic hurt comfort and characters that will stay with you Jas and Kim were so good for each other and it was lovely to see these two wary men find each other Thanks to Gay Romance Reviews for the opportunity to read and review this book These are my honest thoughts and opinions Garrett Leigh I m copying my review for the original version as there s not been quite as many changes in this second edition as there was in Brix Calum s updated Porth Ewan book. Book Junkyard hearts card The chemistry between Kim and Jas was like I felt that I think this author writes amazing unique characters Like I ve read so many of their books and there s not been a single cookie cutter moment in terms of characters They re all so fleshed out and well developed flaw and all Overall very enjoyable quick read Less angsty than house of cards but still within the same beautiful setting Garrett Leigh ARC REVIEW After reading Brix and Callum s story I was super stoked to go back to this world and Garrett Leigh didn t disappoint This is told in only in one POV Jas how goes back to his hometown after a time living in London He s had his heart broken by his ex who was living a double life and has swore of relationships Enter Kim who we met in the previous book as Lena s soulmate and business associate They meet and hook up and it s absolutely explosive But both have their issues and struggle to sort their relationship out in a way that doesn t hurt them.
