Annabel's eyescape An excellent mystery with a focus on the esoteric art world and some rather bizarre people involved in it very interesting I particularly like the investigators who solve the crime Highly recommended English Like Macleod s writing Good tales with very interesting characters much like Ben Porter I m his five book series Try him also please and see English Ivy is a former victim of human trafficking and wants to rebuild her life and escape her past But when she goes missing and her home is covered with blood Sheriff Angelo Jones is on the case to uncover dark secrets of Ivy s past find out what happened to her and find the truth about who these people are and if there is something deeper to uncover Human trafficking is not my favorite topic to read about but if you mix it in with a murder mystery I m all in Reading about Ivy s dark past and this unexpected turn made this book exciting I love John MacLeod s writing style and how he structured this book emphasizing Ivy and Angelo in their origins He also introduced the supporting characters and backstories which felt captivating and heart racing Who doesn t love an unexpected twist at the most unconventional times in a mystery novel I found nothing to dislike about this book Even though the focus was on human trafficking and murder the story was invigoratingly fascinating I recommend this book mainly to adults due to the explicit content and to mystery fans who need some thrills The book was excellently edited written and structured For these reasons I am giving this book five stars English
